He was born on September 22, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to Ina and John Sarosy Sr. He proudly served our country as a veteran of the Korean War.

He married the love of his life, Norma L (Bushman) Sarosy on January 19, 1952. Together they raised six children.

He was the owner of Sign Asylum for many years until he devoted all of his time to work for Jim Boniminio at Jungle Jim’s International Market. His legendary oversized, creative displays, and signage continue to delight customers at both stores

He is survived by children; Theodore Sarosy Jr. (Pamela), Terry Sarosy (Victoria), Teya Salter, Todd Sarosy (Marie), and Tyra Sarosy (Rob Allen), eight grandchildren; Nikolas Sarosy (Christine), Kristina Whitney (Joshua), Bethany Sarosy, Kyle Salter (Angela), Erika Salter, Patrick Salter, Eric Sarosy (Alison), and Adam Sarosy (Courtney), nine great grandchildren; Jackson, Milo, Theodora, Aspen, Sebastian, Braden, Elizabeth, Eva, and Ella. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma of 58 years, daughter Tamra Sarosy, and grandson Matthew Varelmann. A Gathering will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 2pm until 3pm at the Rose Hill Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow on Sunday at 3pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Hospice of Cincinnati.

The marriage of Mr. Crockett Sarrett and Miss Anna Laura Ballard took place yesterday afternoon at three o'clock, at the home of the bride, 1905 High Avenue. It was witnessed by quite a number of relatives and friends. Rev. William A. Atchley, pastor of the Broadway Baptist Church, officiated. The groom is a well known businessman of Knoxville who has a fine river farm on the French Broad River in Sevier County. The bride is a charming young lady who has been a resident of Knoxville only a few years, coming to this place from Missouri, where she was born. The couple have many friends in Knoxville and Sevier County, who remembered the occasion with gifts. The bridal gift of the groom to the bride was a splendid home on Highland Avenue.

The body of J. CROCKETT SARRETT, age 64, former Knoxville Salesman, who was killed by automobile at Miami, Fla., Sunday. Will arrive in Knoxville, Thursday at 11:05 p.m. over the L & N Railroad. It will be taken to Mann's Mortuary to remain until the hour for the funeral. Services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. from the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mrs. Judith (McKay) Sides, granddaughter of J. Crockett Sarrett, in a letter of Mar. 30 1990, to Paul R. Sarrett, Jr. states: "He was killed by a Hit and Run driver, in Florida, after Mom got married (that year, Jan. 18, 1932) and he was identified by the officials, by his daughter's (Annie l. (Sarrett) McKay) wedding clipping, from the Newspaper, which he was carrying with him in his pocket."

Mrs. Sherry (McKay) Ligo, granddaughter of J. Crockett Sarrett, in a letter of Jul. 16, 1991, to Paul R. Sarrett, Jr. states: "I have heard this story many times. Grandfather J. CROCKETT SARRETT, was standing waiting to cross the street, when the bumper of a car caught his loose coat and dragged him. He was identified, by the clipping, in his pocket, of his daughter Annie Louise (Sarrett) Mckay's wedding."

Virginia M. (Sarver) Sargent, 93, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Manor of Perrysburg. She was born on October 3, 1924 in the village of Perrysburg, Ohio to Gilbert and Mildred (Ellerman) Sarver. She graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1941.

Virginia married her sweetheart, Paul H. Sargent on February 18, 1942 in Perrysburg and together they raised their family. She was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church, Perrysburg Chapter #446 O.E.S. and The Ladies’ Oriental Shrine of North America. Virginia was a Toledo Area Miniature enthusiast and owned her own ceramic shop, Idle Hour Ceramic, where she also taught ceramics.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Paul; children, David A. (Carolyn) Sargent, Andrea L. (David) Rex and Melissa S. Sargent; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents.

John Satterfield passed away December 27, 2010 at Pleasant Hill manor in Piketon, OH at age 82. He was born on January 21, 1928 in Spicey Hollow near Latham to Alta Ray and Sarah Ellen Blackburn Satterfield. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his 4 siblings, Jesse Satterfield, Hazel Woods, Everett Satterfield, and Retha Taylor. He went to school on Beavers Ridge in a one room schoolhouse for grades 1-4, and then went to Latham for grades 5-8. He was needed at home to work so he didn't go past the 8th grade. He entered the U.S. Army in Columbus, OH on April 29, 1946, where he served as a corporal. He performed his stateside duties at Camp Atterbury, IN and Fork Knox, KY. He then served in Manilla, Phillippines in the 86th Blackhawk Division. During a furlough, he married Freda Wilburn on August 29th 1946 in Greenup, KY. He returned home from the Army on May 10, 1947. He worked from 1954 to 1990 in bridge construction in Ohio and West Virginia, mostly for the Mosser Company. For a better part of his career, he was superintendant on the job. In his retirement years, John liked working on tractors, building items in his woodshop, teaching his grandsons some of his carpentry skills, and compiling a photo album of ancestors and relatives. He was known throughout the community for his honesty, fairness, and humor. In 2003, he accepted Christ Jesus as his Savior. His chief joys were his faith, family, and friends. Left to carry on his legacy are his wife, Freda; their 4 children; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly, with Pastors Aaron Satterfield and James McCain officiating. Burial will follow in the Washburn Cemetery near Byington, Ohio with military graveside services conducted by American Legion-Merritt Post #142 of Waverly. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
