Mrs. Bessie Elvina Smith, 48, wife of O. R. Smith, died at her home in Fairfield, Friday noon, after an illness of several years.

She is survived by her husband, five daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Getter, of Dayton; Mrs. Emma Degenhart, of Fairfield; Mrs. Irene Singleton, of Hamilton; Lois and Betty at home; four sons, Ralph, of Osborn; Leonard, Robert and James, at home;' her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Semler, of Osborn; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Miller of Osborn; Mrs. Wilbur Schildtknecht, of Crystal Lake, and six brothers, Clarence Semler, of Washington state; Edward, of North Dakota; Orian, Charles, Michael and Harry, of Osborn, and John, of Dayton, and by six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Morris Funeral Home, Osborn, and burial will be made in Fairfield Cemetery.

Dorothy L. Whitaker, 92, of Beavercreek, passed away October 9, 2017. Dorothy was born in Fairborn, OH on December 21, 1924 to the late Herman and Callie (Axman) Semler. She was a member of the Lioness Women’s Club for many years. In her free time she enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.
