Note: Not clearly found in the 1880 census. She could possibly have been the Rosa listed as "sister" under the household of Lemuel Bennet or Barret, Wayne Twp., Huntington Co., p.633d, line 29 -- a Thomas Sherrer appears to be in the preceding family. DLB 2013.

     Anna Sherrick was the daughter of Christian Sherrick and Elizabeth Stoner.

     Barbara Sherrick was the daughter of Christian Sherrick and Elizabeth Stoner.

     Helen Mary Sherwood was born on 10 January 1904 at Coquille, Coos Co., OR; daughter of Andrew Jackson and Cynthia A. (Rogers) Sherwood. She married Harry Allen Slack Sr., son of Henry D. MRS. H.A. SLACK SUCCUMBS AFTER YEAR'S ILLNESS

After a year's illness during which she had undergone two operations, Mrs. Harry A. Slack passed away at a hospital in Portland last Sunday morning.

Funeral services were held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon in St. James Episcopal church, of which she had been a lifelong member, conducted by Bishop b.b. Dagwell, of Portland. The church was full to overflowing with the sorrowing friends who paid this final tribute to one they respected and loved. Interment was in the Masonic cemetery.

Helen Sherwood was born in Coquille, January 10, 1904, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Sherwood and was six months past 36 years of age at the time of her passing.

Following her graduation from the Coquille High School, she attended the University of Oregon from which she graduated in 1925. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.

She married Harry A. Slack on Aug. 21, 1926, and for three years thereafter they resided in Texas.

Following the death of her father in August, 1929, Mr. Slack took over Mr. Sherwood's law practice and they have resided in Coquille since that time.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Slack is survived by two children, Harry A., Jr., 11, and Judith, 9; her mother and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Liljeqvist and Mrs. Gretchen Cake of Portland, and Mrs. Delia Bonney, of Coquille. Another sister, Mrs. Claire Jennings, passed away three years ago.

The sympathy of the entire community goes out in this hour of bereavement to the members of the family of this admirable character who seemed to have everything to live for — a happy home, two children who are at the age when a mother's care is most needed, a recently built home on First street, and the love and confidence of all who knew her.

She was buried in July 1940 at Masonic Cemetery, Coquille, Coos Co., OR, Findagrave #33389208.

     John William Sherwood was born on 23 December 1884 at Quebec, Canada.¹ He married Katherine Marie Brosnan. John William Sherwood died on 6 August 1957 at San Luis Obispo Co., CA, at age 72.
