Ira E. Smith, 82, Taylor Boulevard, Campbellsville, son of the late Ollie N. Smith and Maggie Gilmore Smith, was born in Taylor County, Feb. 26, 1911 and died Saturday, May 15, 1993 in Campbellsville due to an illness. He was a retired farmer, truck driver and painter. He was married to Mary W. Simms Jan. 31, 1938, who preceded him in death Oct. 12, 1989. Smith is survived by two sons and one daughter, Glenn Smith of Campbellsville, Michael L. Smith of Indianapolis, and Phyllis Patterson of Louisville; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Laura Clark of Anchorage, Ky. Funeral service was at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 18 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Ron Ferree. The former was buried today and the latter will be buried on Thursday at 10 a.m. The deceased were both brothers of the widow of Wm. McClintock, of this place who has been sorely afflicted lately, by the death of her husband, three grand children and now her brothers. The sympathy of the community is given her."

James Allen Smith, 95, of Salem, IN and formerly of Warsaw, died Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the home of his daughter in Owenton.

Born April 23, 1913, in Warsaw, Mr. Smith was a retired Insurance Agent and co-owner of Johnson & Smith Insurance Agency in Salem, IN and a WWII Navy Veteran. He was also a former member of the Masonic Lodge and the Lyons Club. He was the son of the late Allen and Ella Buchanan Smith and was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Lee Smith.

He is survived by his wife Alene Smith of Salem, IN; his daughter Frances Annette Smith Keith of Owenton; his step son Larry Anderson of Virginia; two grandchildren Mike (Kathy) Keith and Sandy (Steve) Small of Owenton; five great grandchildren, Chris & Jamie Keith, Benjamin Bennett and Steven and Lucy Small; six great-great grandchildren and one step grandchild.

A time of fellowship will be held on Monday, November 24, from 6-7pm at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. Memorial services will follow at 7pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
