Bensey
Elizabeth Ann Bensey, 64, of Moss Point, MS passed away August 18, 2011 in Pascagoula, MS. Ms. Bensey was born on April 26, 1947 in Oak Ridge TN. She was retired from the City of Pascagoula as the grant coordinator. She helped develop and coordinate projects with all city departments, citizen groups and political leaders. These projects involved public infrastructure, housing, and recreation. She was fiercely loyal to her family and her husband, whom she was in love with every day of their life together. Her love for her dogs, cats, and horses was remarkable. She would take in an animal and give it the love and compassion that only she knew how to give. She cared about the earth and its inhabitants. She was communicative and a great mediator. Although she never had children, she had the mothering instinct and love for all children. Her main calling in life was helping others in need.

She is survived by her husband, Leslie David Jerome of Moss Point, sister, Linda Bensey of Estes Park, CO; brothers Shawn E. Bensey and his wife, Annie, and son, Michael of Hong Kong, China; Michael W. Bensey of Knoxville, TN. She is also survived by her nephew, Kiernan Bensey, niece, Ambree Rogers, her husband, Chris, great niece and nephew Landon and Adelyn Rogers, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Visitation will be Tuesday August 23, 2011 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. A Celebration of Life Service in her honor will begin at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel. A reception will be held at the Senior Citizens Center in Pascagoula from 5-7:00pm.

Mr. Bensey is survived by his wife Teresa Bensey; step-daughters, Michelle and Stephanie Goosie of Harriman; and one granddaughter.

The family received friends Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services followed at 8 p.m. with Rev. Henry Lenoir officiating. Interment was held Friday, July 16, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood.

He loved being outdoors, working on his farm, woodworking and spending time with his granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Charlotte Bensey; and an uncle, Clyde Bensey.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Bensey; two stepdaughters, Michelle and Stephanie Goosie, both of Harriman; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Shawn and Annie Bensey, Hong Kong, and Michael Bensey, Knoxville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty and Less Jerome, Mississippi, and Linda Bensey, Colorado; a granddaughter, Victoria Shillings; a niece and spouse, Ambree and Chris Rogers; a nephew, Kiernan Bensey; a great-niece and great-nephew, Landon and Adelyn Rogers.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, in Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral service followed, with the Rev. Henry Lenoir officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 16, at Roane Memorial Gardens, Rockwood.

BENSEY, MR. FRANK N., JR. - age 83 of Harriman, passed away Tuesday July 4, 2006 at Roane Medical Center. He attended Berea College in Kentucky until the onset of WW II at which time he enlisted in the United States Navy. Frank served in an additional 17 years in the Naval Reserve after the war. He was employed as a physicist with Union Carbide where he retired after 38 years of service. He was very active in both the Woods Chapel United Methodist and the First United Methodist Church of Harriman where he was the Boy Scout Leader for several years. He had attained Eagle Scout and the Order of the Arrow as a young man in West Virginia. Frank was also very supportive of the Cornstalk Heights Historic District and the Riverfront Park where he walked regularly. He also loved to go to the Harriman high School football games and enjoyed watching the Lady Vol basketball games on television. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank N. Bensey, Sr. and Blanch Hart Bensey, two brothers, Raymond and Clyde Bensey, two sisters, Adeline Bensey and Venice Wheeler. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Charlotte Sniffen Bensey; three sons, Frank N. "Buddy" Bensey, III and wife, Teresa and daughters, Michelle and Stephanie Goosie of Harriman, Shawn E. Bensey and wife, Annie of Hong Kong, China, Michael W. Catherine Beal Benson married William Frederick Davault, son of Frederick Davault and Margaret Ellen McCleary, on 9 March 1898. Catherine Beal Benson lived on 29 April 1910 at Nine Mile Prairie, Callaway Co., MO.1 She died on 10 April 1936 at Williamsburg, Callaway Co., MO, at age 65 Montgomery Standard, Montgomery City Missouri, April 17, 1936:
Catherine Beal (pronouned Bell) DeVault spent her entire life on the same farm 3 1/2 miles southwest of Williamsburg. She died at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 5 days (error). She joined the Methodist Church as a girl. The funeral was held in the Methodist Church with burial at the Williamsburg Cemetery. She is survived by daughters Martha Ellen (Mrs. Hugh Crabtree) of Cascade, Idaho and Catherine (Mrs Gordon Niedergerke) of Fulton, Missouri, grandchild Martha Jo Niedergerke, her husband and her brother Marvin Benson of McCredie, Several nephews and Nieces. Mrs. DeVault was in failing health for a long time having never fully recovered from an accident suffered several years ago.

She was buried in April 1936 at Williamsburg Cemetery, Williamsburg, Callaway Co., MO.
