     Cynthia Jane Snapp was born on 30 November 1815. She was the daughter of Joseph Snapp and Margaret Cravens.

     Cyrus Snapp was born on 17 September 1818 at Augusta Co., VA. He was the son of Joseph Snapp and Margaret Cravens. Cyrus Snapp died on 13 September 1836 at age 17.

     David John Snapp was born in May 1840 at Taney Co. (probably), MO. He was the son of Harrison Galifant Snapp and Emily D. Parry. David John Snapp married Mary Ann (?) circa 1858. David John Snapp lived in July 1860 at Carrollton Twp., Carroll Co., AR.¹ He began military service Confederate, Civil War, Co. "E", 3rd Missouri Infantry, captured February, 1864 at Mound City, Kansas. Exchanged. David John Snapp was born in May 1840 in Taney County, Missouri. He was the son of Harrison Galifant Snapp and Emily D. Parry. David's great-grandfather, John Snapp, Sr., and his great-great-grandfather, Lawrence Snapp, served in Virginia during the American Revolution.

David's father, Harrison Galifant Snapp, was born in 1812 in Virginia and died about 1863, possibly in Cooper County, Missouri. His mother, Emily D. Parry, was born about 1814 in Virginia and died 24 September 1855 in Forsyth, Taney County, Missouri. They were married 24 September 1836 in Greene County, Tennessee, and in 1939, they settled in Taney County, Missouri. David's siblings were:

In about 1858, David married Mary Ann _____, probably in Taney County, Missouri. David and Mary Ann had two children:

David enlisted in Co. E, 3rd Missouri (Confederate) Cavalry on 10 September 1862 in Oregon County, Missouri. He was 22 years old. The officers of Co. E were Andrew J. Thompson, Captain; Francis M. Fullbright, 1st Lieutenant; Greenville L. Hands, 2nd Lieutenant; and Lafayette D. Snapp, 2nd Lieutenant [David's younger brother]. One other younger brother—Private Andrew J. Snapp—also served in Co. E. According to the compiled military service record for David J. Snapp, he was captured and taken as a prisoner of war on 24 October 1864, at Mound City, Linn County, Kansas—the day before the Battle of Mine Creek. After being incarcerated at prisons in St. Louis, Rock Island, Illinois, and Point Lookout, Maryland, David was paroled at James River, Virginia, on 23 March 1865.

It is not known when David's first wife, Mary Ann, died, but by ca.1868, David had married Virginia C. Bagley (born about 1837 in Arkansas; died ca. 1888 in Tom Bean, Grayson County, Texas). David and Virginia had six children (while making their home in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas):

The family moved to Tom Bean, Grayson County, Texas, in 1882. Daughter Addie was born in Tom Bean on 9 September 1882.

On 9 May 1886, tragedy struck the Snapp family back in Taney County, Missouri. David's youngest brother, Sam, was shot and killed in Kirbyville by George Washington ("Wash") Middleton, a member of the notorious vigilante group—the Bald Knobbers. He was only 31 years old. Having been widowed twice, five children were orphaned by his Sam's death.

David John Snapp died on 11 January 1918 in Tom Bean, Grayson County, Texas, at the age of 77. He is buried in an unmarked grave at White Mound Cemetery near Tom Bean. His obituary appeared in the Sherman Daily Democrat, Sherman, Texas, on 12 January 1918:

"J. D. Snapp, 80 years of age, and for many years a citizen of the White Mound community, east of Sherman, died yesterday shortly after noon. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock, after which interment was in the White Mound cemetery. Mr. Snapp is survived by the following children, his wife having died thirty years ago: Lee Snapp, Duke, Okla; Mrs. Ida Logue, Springfield, Mo. [should be Ill.]; Bert Snapp, Tom Bean; George Snapp, Roby; Mrs. Lou Howell, Tom Bean. Mr. Snapp came to Texas from Missouri in 1882, and has resided at White Mound since that time. He was a Confederate veteran, having served four years on the southern side in the War Between the States."

His initials are shown reversed [J.D.], and his mother's surname is incorrect -- but the document does prove that he is buried at White Mound Cemetery.

Histsorical documents related to him (i.e. censuses, Civil War records, death certificate, funeral record, etc.) show conflicting first names. Most documents recorded his name as David J. Snapp, although some records showed him as John Snapp or J.D. Snapp.

He was buried in January 1918 at White Mound Cemetery, Tom Bean, Grayson Co., TX, Find A Grave Memorial# 96354444.

     David Newton Snapp was born on 14 June 1854. He was the son of John Henry Snapp and Nancy Herring. David Newton Snapp married Capitola Chaplin on 15 July 1877 at Davis Co., MO. David Newton Snapp was buried in March 1930 at Westmoreland Cemetery, Westmoreland, Pottawatomie Co., KS. He died on 28 March 1930 at Pottawatomie Co., KS, at age 75.

     Diana Allen Snapp was born on 31 December 1810. She was the daughter of Joseph Snapp and Margaret Cravens.

     Earl Robert Snapp was born on 18 February 1920 at Limestone, Washington Co., TN.¹ He was the son of Thodore Bland Snapp and Charlotte Elizabeth Hylton. Earl Robert Snapp married Ada Gertrude Henley, daughter of Allie Dosser Henley and Lora Mae Click, on 17 December 1941. Earl Robert Snapp began military service WW II service, U.S. Army, PFC. He died on 9 April 1989 at Ferndale, Lake Co., FL, at age 69

     Earnest H. Snapp was born on 16 January 1922 at Washington Co., TN.¹ He was the son of Thodore Bland Snapp and Charlotte Elizabeth Hylton. Earnest H. Snapp died on 20 September 1985 at Limestone, Washington Co., TN, at age 63.

     Eddie Ray Snapp was born on 5 May 1958 at Boonville, Cooper Co., MO. He died on 6 May 1958 at Boonville, Cooper Co., MO. He was the son of Edgar Leon Snapp and Gloria Don August. Eddie Ray Snapp was buried in May 1958 at Peninsula Cemetery, Lamine, Cooper Co., MO, Findagrave #102643656.

     Edgar Leon Snapp was born on 26 August 1934 at Nelson, Saline Co., MO.¹ He was the son of William Edgar Snapp and Edith Racy.¹ Edgar Leon Snapp married Gloria Don August, daughter of Edward William August, on 17 September 1955 at Boonville, Cooper Co., MO.      Edith Marie Snapp was born on 3 July 1900 at Missouri.¹ She was the daughter of Oran Alfred Snapp and Lucy Catherine Garriott. Edith Marie Snapp married Cecil Muerl Jackson, son of Robert Forrest Jackson and Allie Belle McAfee, in 1921. Edith Marie Snapp lived on 7 April 1930 at Liberty Twp., Grundy Co., MO.¹ She died on 16 June 1990 at age 89. He was the son of Jacob Alexander Snapp and Alma Mae Marsh.¹ Edsel Marsh Snapp married Esther Grace Hutsler, daughter of Henry Raymond Hutsler and Mary Estelle Stratton, on 17 April 1948 at Kansas City, Wyandotte Co., KS, Four children, a daughter and three sons.      Edward B. Snapp was born on 25 October 1923 at Quay Co., NM.¹ He was the son of James R. Snapp and Ethel Collins.¹ Edward B. Snapp began military service WW II service, SSgt., U.S. Army.      Edward Bennett Snapp was born on 28 April 1813 at Virginia.¹ He was the son of William Henry Snapp and Elizabeth Pfeifer. Edward Bennett Snapp married Elizabeth Dutton on 25 February 1835 at Frederick Co., VA. Edward Bennett Snapp married Cornelia Tilden Albin on 14 June 1843. Edward Bennett Snapp died on 14 February 1862 at Bloomery Gap, Hampshire Co., VA (now WV), at age 48 Killed in Bloomery Gap skirmish.      Edwin A. Snapp was born on 25 July 1870 at Hamblen or Hawkins Co., TN.¹ He was the son of Dr. Samuel T. Snapp and Henrietta Espran Proffitt.¹ Edwin A.      Electa Pemberton Snapp was also known as "Lecta". She was born on 13 October 1901 at Washington Co., TN.¹ She was the daughter of John Pemberton Snapp and Julia Ada Shields.¹ Electa Pemberton Snapp married Paul Marshall, son of Joseph John Marshall and Gertrude Fraker. Electa Pemberton Snapp lived on 11 April 1930 at Civil District 7, Green Co., TN.² She died on 12 January 1933 at Greene Co., TN, at age 31.

     Elizabeth Snapp was born circa 1742. She was the daughter of Lorentz Schnepp and Elizabeth Euler. Elizabeth Snapp died in 1774.

     Elizabeth Snapp was born on 1 September 1830 at Tennessee.¹ She was the daughter of John Henry Snapp and Maria Kepple. Elizabeth Charlotte Snapp died on 3 December 1931 at Pueblo, Pueblo Co., CO, at age 16. She was buried in December 1931 at Mountain View Cemetery, Pueblo, Pueblo Co., CO.

     Elizabeth Irene Snapp was born on 7 September 1826 at Greene Co., TN. She was the daughter of John Snapp and Elizabeth Cook. Elizabeth Irene Snapp married Jonas Clayton on 26 May 1841 at TN.
