Otto W. "Tink" Snapp Jr. - Age 83, passed away Feb. 18, 2002. Survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Lorraine M. Snapp, of the family home; sons, Ronald W. Snapp of Norfolk, Va., Dr. Bruce R. (Jeanne) Snapp of Alexandria, Va; stepson, Scott Moore of Ennis, Mont; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nephew, Kenneth (Lois) Snapp of Canon City; and his cousin, Sarah Barrett of Pueblo. Preceded in death by his father, Otto W. Snapp Sr., on Oct. 28, 1956; mother, Etta B. Snapp on Dec. 23, 1999; and his brother, Melvin W. Snapp, on Aug. 19, 1967. Born Oct. 30, 1918, in Pueblo and was a lifetime Pueblo resident. Tink was employed by the Minnequa Bank of Pueblo, retiring as executive vice president on March 1, 1984, after 47 years of service. He also served as a member of the board of directors at Minnequa Bank from November 1964 until Dec. 19, 1990. He attended and graduated from Centennial High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army Air Force in October 1942 and served overseas in the China-Burma-India Theater and received the Republic of China War Memorial Medal and China Air Force Crew Member Wings. Tink was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served as a trustee, deacon and elder of the church; also a member of Silver State Lodge No. 95, AF&AM and received his 50-year certificate and jewel on Jan. 4, 1997. Life member of the China-Burma-India Hump Pilots Association. Past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 61 and American Legion Post 2. Tink was an avid sports enthusiast, participating in fast-pitch softball, baseball, tennis, golf, basketball and football. He officiated high school and college football and basketball games for 23 years and was elected to the Greater Pueblo Sports Association Hall of Fame in 1976. He was also elected to the Colorado Bankers Association 50-year club in 1992. The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Gaide and his staff and Phyllis Gagliardi from Physicians Home Health Care for the special care they gave Tink. He will lie in state at the funeral home today and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at First Presbyterian Church, 220 W. 10th St., with the Rev. Survivors include two sons, Ernest Colly of Marshfield, Missouri, and Phillip Lee of Springfield, Missouri; five daughters, Hazel Maxine West of Republic, Missouri, Frances (Fern) Painter of Branson, Missouri, Betty Pauline of Reeds Spring, Missouri, Peggy Sue Adams of Bartonville, Illinois, and Ethel Louise Hilton of Strafford, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m., June 11, 1987 in Snapps Funeral Home, Branson, Missouri. Burial will be in Edwards Cemetery at Kirbyville, Missouri.

Sometime after his birth Phoebe rode her horse & buggy to Springfield, trading them for the lots where Ithamer built their home. The old house is still there on Rogers; it has been remodeled in recent years. The other children born in Springfield are: Hazel, Frances, Betty, Phillip, Peggy, and Ethel. Their oldest daughter, Mildred Jean, died at about 10 months of age due to influenza. She is buried at Edwards Cemetery in Kirbyville, Missouri.
Phoebe was known to all of her family & friends as "Tip." Nobody can remember how she got the nickname. Nobody knows what the "R" in her middle name stands for, either.
On her 97th birthday, friends & family gathered at the nursing home to surprise her with a birthday party.
About 2004 Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, honored Phoebe by placing her name on the Taffy Shop sign. It is called, "Phoebe Snapp Taffy Shop." Her photos used to hang in there, but after the last remodel they were taken down. The sign is still in front with her name on it.
She was a great lady and a friend to all.

He married Pauline Craig on 14 April 1944 at Lawton, Comanche Co., OK. Preston Arthur Snapp was educated; Bachelor's degree Colorado State University, 1947, MA Education 1950. He died on 1 July 2009 at age 90

He entered retail sales with his parents in their grocery and monument business, in Kirbyville. In 1948, he moved the business to Branson. In 1949 he founded Snapp Trucking Company and in 1959 he bought Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery.
He grew up attending St. James General Baptist Church, in Kirbyville, then attended Branson Bible Church in 1963.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-laws Norman Finn, and Ronald Dozier.
Survivors include his wife, Phoebe Snapp, of the home; daughters and their spouses, Jerrie and Larry Wise, of Neosho, Sherrie and Hugh Bosworth, of Lonoke, Ark., Susan and Darrel Bearden, of Branson, Mary and Charlie Skaggs, of Farmington, Ark., Kem and Rick Adams, of Springfield, and Amy and John Whorton, of Ava; brother, Leonard Snapp, and wife, Pearl, of Sacramento, Calif; sister, Vestal Buck, and husband, Dwight, of Folsom, Calif; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
