     Elizabeth Souder was born circa 1763 at York Co., PA.¹ She married George Michael Clapper Sr. circa 1780. Elizabeth Souder died after 22 September 1850 at Salt Creek Twp., Muskingum Co., OH, Elizabeth was living with her daughter Barbara Paxton's household in the 1850 census. Online genealogies show dates of 1847 (clearly wrong) and 1853 (possibly correct).

SOUDER, HEDRICK, RUSH. - On Friday evening, Aug. 3, in a tragic accident, five out of six occupants in an automobile met almost instant death when a trolley struck the car in which they were riding.

Esther R., daughter of the late Wallace A. and Ella K. Souder, was born March 20, 1917; died Aug. 3, 1945; aged 28 y. 4 m. 13 d. In her youth she was converted and united with the Rockhill Mennonite Church, of which she was a faithful member until death. On May 22, 1937, she was united in marriage to Ralph B. Hedrick, and at the time of death was the mother of three children - two sons and one daughter. She was a devoted wife and mother, and diligently led her children to understand the person of her Saviour, to enjoy the Bible, together with all the Christian activities offered for her children. She is survived by her husband and one son, Donald, aged four years.

She was buried in August 1945 at Rockhill Mennonite Church Cemetery, Rock Hill, Bucks Co., PA, Find A Grave Memorial# 11000200.

     Francis Souder was born on 24 March 1814. He married Eva Carolina Faulhaber, daughter of Isaak Jakob Ludwig Faulhaber and Anna Louisa Munzinger, on 16 July 1840 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH. It becomes our painful duty to record one of the most shocking casualties that has ever come under our notice, and which resulted in the death of our townsman Francis Souder, on Friday last. The deceased in company with a number of our citizens, was engaged in moving a small frame building in from the street, which had been pryed from its foundation and set upon rollers. The building had been moved probably six feet, when one of the timbers upon which it was rolling was found to be too narrow for the rollers. To remedy this, Mr. S. endeavored to procure a plank, which was lying under the building, intending to place it upon the timber, and while reaching under to obtain it, inadvertently placed his head in the aperture formed between one of the sleepers and the timber beneath, when the fulcrum of the lever suddenly giving way, the building fell upon his head and crushed it in the most shocking manner, completely fracturing the skull and pressing it into the brain. Mr. S. was taken unconscious from the place, in which condition he lingered for a few hours and expired. The deceased leaves a bereaved wife and family to deplore his untimely death. He was buried in June 1849 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH.

     Philip Jacob Souder was born on 10 April 1760 at Lancaster, Lancaster Co., PA. He married Susannah Boger, daughter of Michael Joseph Boger and Elisabeth Susanna Jensel, circa 1783. Philip Jacob Souder died on 24 September 1821 at Loudoun Co., VA, at age 61.

     Preston Alderfer Souder was born on 21 July 1891 at Telford, Montgomery Co., PA.¹ He was the son of John Derstine Souder and Sallie Godshall Alderfer.¹ Preston Alderfer Souder married Emma Ruth, daughter of Rev. Joseph Gehman Ruth and Mary Oberholtzer Kratz, on 6 April 1911, Ceremony by Rev. Samuel Detwiler.¹ Preston Alderfer Souder lived at Telford, Montgomery Co., PA, Farmer and poultry-fancier.¹ He was Mennonite.¹ He died on 23 March 1959 at age 67 Obituary (findagrave.com):

Souder, Preston A., son of John D. and Sallie (Alderfer) Souder; born July 21, 1891, Telford, Pa; died of carcinoma in the Grandview Hospital, Sellersville, Pa., where he had been a patient for 2 weeks; aged 67 y. 8m. 2 d. Married to Emma Ruth in 1911. Surviving are his wife, 4 children (Dorothy-Mrs. Charles Miller, John, Telford; Sallie-Mrs. Stanley Shisler, and Lester, Skippack), 12 grandchildren, 2 brothers (Mahlon, Blooming Glen, and Raymond, Telford), and one sister (Edna-Mrs. Herbert Kulp, Telford). Two daughters preceded him in death. He was a member of the Rockhill Church where services were held on March 27 in charge of Clinton Landis and Alfred Detweiler; interment in the adjoining cemetery.

     Regina Rachel Souder was born on 3 January 1785 at Lovettsville, Loudoun Co., VA.¹ She was the daughter of Philip Jacob Souder and Susannah Boger. Regina Rachel Souder married John Cost, son of Frederick Cost, on 21 September 1804 at Frederick Co., VA. Regina Rachel Souder died on 12 September 1866 at Bath Twp., Greene Co., OH, at age 81.      Susannah Souder was born on 27 March 1813 at Montgomery Co., PA.¹ She married Henry Cassel Bergey, son of Henry Hunsberger Bergey and Elizabeth Benner Cassel, on 25 December 1842 at Montgomery Co., PA. Susannah Souder died on 19 February 1899 at Montgomery Co., PA, at age 85. She was buried in February 1899 at Franconia Mennonite Church Cemetery, Telford, Montgomery Co., PA, Findagrave #140357080.

     Wallace Souder was born on 14 February 1886 at Bucks Co., PA. He was the son of Rev. Mahlon Crouthamel Souder and Lizzie K. Allebach.¹ Wallace Souder married Ella K. Ruth, daughter of Rev. Joseph Gehman Ruth and Mary Oberholtzer Kratz, on 6 April 1911.¹ Wallace Souder lived at Telford, Montgomery Co., PA.¹ He died on 4 December 1937 at age 51. Souder. ­Wallace A., son of the late Mahlon and Lizzie (Allebach) Souder, was born Feb. 14, 1886, near Sellersville, Pa; died at his late home near Souderton, Pa., Dec. 4, 1937; aged 51 y. 9 m. 20 d. Death was caused by carcinoma of the lungs from which he suffered for four months. April 6, 1911, he was married to Ella Ruth. This union being blessed with 7 children. He is survived by his companion and 2 daughters (Margaret, wife of Lester Rush; Esther, wife of Ralph Hedrick, both living at home) also 1 sister (Hannah, wife of A. Linc Gehman of Sellersville), and 3 brothers (Edwin Souder of Telford, Harvey of Sellersville, and Ervin of Philadelphia). Five infant sons preceded him in death, also 3 sisters and 1 brother. Funeral services were held Dec. 8 at the home and at the Rockhill Mennonite Church where he was a member from his youth) conducted by the following ministers: Isaac Detweiler, Alfred Detweiler, John Lapp, and Wilson Moyer.
