Dawson, Sangamon Co., IL, adjacent to his son James G. Berry, Jr.'s family.¹ He died on 5 October 1878 at Lincoln, Logan Co., IL, at age 76.

K. T. (sic) Berry Dead. K. T. Berry, living near Sayre, who has been sick for several months, died Wednesday night. He was a member of the A.F. & A.M. lodge of Sayre.

J. G. Berry, who has been ill for some time, succumbed to the enemy of mortality on Wednesday at 8 o'clock P.M. aged 85 years. Mr. Berry was an old resident of the county well and favorably known to a host of mourning friends. He is survived by a wife and three grown children. Interment will take place today at 10 o'clock, under the directions of the Masonic Fraternity.

Mr. Berry, of whose death we made mention last week, was buried Tursday (sic) morning, funeral services being conducted at the home by Rev. McConnell; assisted by Rev. J. A. Bradshaw, after which the Masons took charge of the remains and services were held under the ritual of the order. Mr. Berry was 81 (sic) years old the day before he died. He was a native of Ohio, but came to this place from Missouri.

Watkins, daughter of Marcus Orlen Watkins and Lovina Jones, circa 1885, Three children born to the marriage, all living as of 1900 census.² Occupation: Farmer in 1900.² John Garland Berry lived in June 1900 at Bowling Green, Marion Co., OH.² He died on 10 February 1941 at Kenton, Hardin Co., OH, at age 81.

     John Harold Berry was born on 7 September 1932 at Pekin, Tazewell Co., IL. He was the son of George Willis Berry and Beth Glenna Blue. John Harold Berry died on 11 March 2000 at Clermont, Lake Co., FL, at age 67.

     John Henry Berry was born on 26 June 1892 at Pekin, Tazewell Co., IL. He was the son of William Anderson Berry and Josephine Kessler. John Henry Berry died on 21 August 1974 at Plymouth, Marshall Co., IN, at age 82.

Larry Eugene Berry was born on Wednesday; April 21, 1943 in Ames; Story County, Iowa. He was the son of: Isaac and Bessie (Mitchell) Berry. On Monday; August 26, 1963, he married Marcia Fausch in Nevada. Larry retired in 1992 from the Nevada schools.

He enjoyed gardening, refurbishing furniture, and cleaning. Larry Eugene Berry, age 66, passed away on Wednesday; December 2, 2009 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa.

Those left to mourn his passing are: His wife, Marcia Berry of Kelley; 2 daughters, Sherry (Roger) Sinclair of Slater and Julie Mann of Kelley; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Marvin (Ruth) Berry of Monroe and Raymond Berry of Nevada; and a sister, Doris (Gordon) Eivins of Panora.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Daniel E. Berry on November 27, 2005, a daughter, Delisa Berry, a sister, Margaret Rice, and a brother, Bob Berry on March 16, 2004. May they rest in peace.

Visitation will be from: 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday; December 6, 2009 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 2:00 p.m. on Monday; December 7, 2009 also at the funeral home. Berry and Ellen Jane Smith.¹ Laura Berry died on 21 November 1965 at Nevada, Story Co., IA, at age 70. She was buried in November 1965 at Nevada Municipal Cemetery, Nevada, Story Co., IA, Findagrave #123822994.
Note: Laura was institutionalized at an early age with apparent mental retardation. She is listed in the censuses as not able to read nor write. Beginning sometime between 1915 when she was listed in the Iowa state census at Nevada, and January 1920 when she was first listed at the Iowa State Institution for Feeble Minded Children at Glenwood in Mills County, she appears to have lived continuously in that institution.      Lawrence Berry was born in March 1873 at Tazewell Co., IL, 1900 age and birth year show 1874, but 1880 census shows age 7 and "at school", which is more consistent with 1873 birth year.^2,1 He was the son of Simeon Berry and Amanda E. McKean.¹

     Lemuel O. Berry was born circa 1859 at Sangamon Co., IL.¹ He was the son of James Green Berry Jr. and Lydia Ann Swigert.¹ Lemuel O. Berry died after 30 June 1870; not found in 1880 or 1900, not named in the will of James G. Berry.

     Lena Mae Berry was born on 28 April 1893 at Washington Co. (probably), TN.¹ She was the daughter of Robert L. Berry and Mary Ellen Rowe.¹ Lena Mae Berry married Earl Hodges Henley, son of Alexander Harris Henley and Manassas Victoria Hodges. Lena Mae Berry died on 18 February 1950 at Jonesborough, Washington Co., TN, at age 56. Barkalow on 8 June 1881 at McLean Co., IL. Leonora H. Berry lived on 6 June 1900 at 1025 North Topeka, Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS.² She lived in 1911 at Rose Hill, Butler Co., KS, per will of James G. Berry. She was (an unknown value.)³ She died in 1928. She was buried in 1928 at Old Mission Cemetery, Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS, Findagrave #34933722.

     Lida Mae Berry was born on 26 March 1871 at Pekin, Tazewell Co., IL. She was the daughter of George Berry and Amelia Summers. Lida Mae Berry married Edwin Wellington Larimore, son of John Wesley Larimore and Catherine Jackson, on 1 January 1890. Lida Mae Berry died on 23 March 1957 at Pekin, Tazewell Co., IL, at age 85. Lula Berry-Burke was born in Sangamon Co., Illinois, in the year 1862, June 22. She moved to Kansas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Berry in the year 1884, she was married to William Burke at St. Joseph, Mo., March 29th, 1899. After Mr. Burke’s death in 1914, she moved to Wichita where she lived until her death, Jan. 15, 1917.

Mrs. Burke was a teacher in the rural schools around Rose Hill for several years, then she worked with the A.T. & S. F. Until her marriage. She resided at St. Joseph all her married life. She had many warm friends in Rose Hill who extend their sympathies to the bereaved relatives.
