J. G. Berry, who has been ill for some time, succumbed to the enemy of mortality on Wednesday at 8 o'clock P.M. aged 85 years. Mr. Berry was an old resident of the county well and favorably known to a host of mourning friends. He is survived by a wife and three grown children. Interment will take place today at 10 o'clock, under the directions of the Masonic Fraternity.

Mr. Berry, of whose death we made mention last week, was buried Tursday (sic) morning, funeral services being conducted at the home by Rev. McConnell; assisted by Rev. J. A. Bradshaw, after which the Masons took charge of the remains and services were held under the ritual of the order. Mr. Berry was 81 (sic) years old the day before he died. He was a native of Ohio, but came to this place from Missouri.

He was buried in April 1911 at Old Sayre Cemetery, Sayre, Beckham Co., OK, Findagrave #30095095. He left a will on 27 March 1911 and proved 15 MAY 1911.

Larry Eugene Berry was born on Wednesday; April 21, 1943 in Ames; Story County, Iowa. He was the son of: Isaac and Bessie (Mitchell) Berry. On Monday; August 26, 1963, he married Marcia Fausch in Nevada. Larry retired in 1992 from the Nevada schools.

He enjoyed gardening, refurbishing furniture, and cleaning. Larry Eugene Berry, age 66, passed away on Wednesday; December 2, 2009 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa.

Those left to mourn his passing are: His wife, Marcia Berry of Kelley; 2 daughters, Sherry (Roger) Sinclair of Slater and Julie Mann of Kelley; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Marvin (Ruth) Berry of Monroe and Raymond Berry of Nevada; and a sister, Doris (Gordon) Eivins of Panora.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Daniel E. Berry on November 27, 2005, a daughter, Delisa Berry, a sister, Margaret Rice, and a brother, Bob Berry on March 16, 2004. May they rest in peace.

Visitation will be from: 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday; December 6, 2009 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 2:00 p.m. on Monday; December 7, 2009 also at the funeral home. Lula Berry-Burke was born in Sangamon Co., Illinois, in the year 1862, June 22. She moved to Kansas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Berry in the year 1884, she was married to William Burke at St. Joseph, Mo., March 29th, 1899. After Mr. Burke’s death in 1914, she moved to Wichita where she lived until her death, Jan. 15, 1917.

Mrs. Burke was a teacher in the rural schools around Rose Hill for several years, then she worked with the A.T. & S. F. Until her marriage. She resided at St. Joseph all her married life. She had many warm friends in Rose Hill who extend their sympathies to the bereaved relatives.
