Pauline was born on June 4, 1926 in Newton, IL the daughter of John and Ella (Birt) Beverlin. She married Gene French on February 8, 1947 in Newton and he preceded her in death on October 22, 1993. Pauline was a bookkeeper for Worcester Hardware in Newton for many years. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Newton.

Pauline is survived by two children, John R. French and Jeanne (Mike) Weber both of Newton; three grandchildren, Jackie (Greg) Powell of Columbus, OH, Michael Weber of San Francisco, Ca and Justin (Jenny) Weber of South Beloit; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Weber, Ava Powell and Ryan Weber; sister, Barbara (Edward) Littlejohn of Robinson and sister-in-law, Jo Beverlin of Newton.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers Gene, Harry and Glenn Beverlin and 3 sisters Marie Worthey, Beulah Fuson and Hazel Beverlin and 2 grandsons Michael Ross Weber, Jr and Cheney Scott Weber.

She was buried in 2009 at Brick Cemetery, Newton, Jasper Co., IL, Find A Grave Memorial# 65572447.

     Note: During World War II, Jesse G. Dorsey of Speed, Indiana sent copies of the "Speedometer," the company newsletter of the Louisville Cement Company, to a number of soldiers from Indiana. Many of the soldiers wrote back thanking Jesse Dorsey for sending the newsletters that contained much local information. Jesse Dorsey kept the letters that were sent to him. One of the soldiers that wrote to Jesse G. Dorsey was Jesse M. Beyl. Six of Jesse M. Beyl's letters have been preserved and are now posted on the internet. Jesse Mason Beyl Jr. was born on 24 May 1924. He was the son of Jesse Mason Beyl and Zola B. Jackson. Jesse Mason Beyl Jr. began military service on 20 February 1943 at Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, WW II, U.S. Army Air Corps, 379th and 525th Bomb Squadrons, enlisted. He died in 1999.

     Services are 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home, with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery in Memphis. Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. today.
