LAUREL, Neb.--Special: Funeral services for Alvye Stingley, 83, who died Thursday at the home of his son, Clayton, at Dixon, Neb., were Saturday at the Laurel Methodist Church.
The Rev. Richard Burgess officiated. Burial was in the Concord, Neb., Cemetery under direction of the Wiltse Funeral Home of Laurel.
Mr. Stingley was born June 10, 1882, at Rockford, Iowa. He came to Laurel with his parents in 1895. He married Mable Swanson Feb. 12, 1908, at Dixon. They farmed near Dixon and Laurel until moving to Laurel in 1950.

He was a student at the University of Colorado in Denver at the time of his death.
Graham was a one-of-a-kind human being who loved all facets of life despite suffering from depression. He was highly intelligent, intellectual, well-read and philosophical. Among his interests were music, movies nature and being outdoors. He had the opportunity to travel widely with his parents and three brothers, and valued time with his family.
Graham was a kind, loving, thoughtful, thought-provoking and very humorous child and young man, who will be missed forever by his family and friends.

John Wesley Stinson was the son of Lovel Stinson (1770 - 1840) and Mary "Polly" Poe (1777 - 1860).1,2 She married Eason Haywood Stinson circa 1875, Amanda was a granddaughter of Lovel and Mary "Polly" (Poe) Simpson, and Eason was a great-grandson of Lovel and Polly, making Eason a first cousin once removed from Amanda.2 Amanda Linnie Stinson died on 24 December 1912 at Allen Co., KY, at age 56. She was buried in December 1912 at Rough Hill Cemetery, Holland, Allen Co., KY.
