Lt. William F. Bippus
Military funeral services and burial for Lt. William F. Bippus, former Daytonian, and three other airman, all of whom lost their lives in 1945 (sic) in Jorhat, India, on a flight "over the hump" to China, were conducted Tuesday at National Military cemetery at Ft. Scott, Kan.

Lt. Bippus was the son of the late William F. Bippus and Mrs. Bippus, the latter now living in Los Angeles. His father was at one time treasurer of the National Cash Register Co. and at the time of his death, in 1932, was president of Joyce-Cridland Co.

Besides his mother, Lt. Bippus is survived by his former wife, now Mrs. Phyllis Anne Krumholz, Jr., and two children, William Franklin Bippus III, and Phyllis Anne Bippus, all of Dayton.

Cause of death: : He was a pilot with the Air Transport Command and was killed in action in WW II flying a mission over the Himalayas (the "Hump") to China in the China-Burma-Inida Theatre.

     Henrietta Birchall married William O'Donnell.

     Rachel Bircham was born on 19 October 1765. She was the daughter of John Bircham and Susannah (?) Rachel Bircham married Daniel Soesbe, son of Thomas Soesbe and Jemima (?), on 15 April 1781 at Washington Co., PA. Rachel Bircham died on 8 March 1844 at Vigo Co., IN, at age 78

"State of Indiana, Vigo County

On this 15th day of July 1845 personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the county aforesaid Solomon Harbert a resident of said county, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth on his oath make the following Declarations in order to obtain the benefit of the provisions made by the Act of Congress passed on the 3rd day of March 1843 granting pensions to widows of persons who served during the Revolutionary War. That he is the administrator of the estate of Rachel Soesbe who was the widow of Daniel Soesbe who was a private in the army of the Revolution, and served in the manner specified in his original Declaration now on file at the proper office at Washington City.

That the said Rachel Soesbe was a pensioner under the act of 7th July 1838 at the rate of Eighty dollars per annum.

The said Solomon Harbert administrator as aforesaid doth further declare that the said Rachel Soesbe widow as aforesaid died on the eighth day of February 1844, that she never intermarried after the death of the said Daniel Soesbe her said husband.

     Anna Bird married George V. W. Thomas, son of George Thomas and Ella Levens, on 15 August 1918.¹ Anna Bird died on 16 January 1919 at Hillcrest, Mercer Co., NJ.¹

     Berniece Margaret Bird was born on 6 October 1912 at Mayville, Tuscola Co., MI.¹ She was the daughter of Milan Lundy Bird and Louise Anna Gottenmeyer. Berniece Margaret Bird married Ottis Christopher Starr, son of Benjamin W. Starr and Maudie Mae Humphrey, on 4 May 1935 at Davison, Genesee Co., MI. Berniece Margaret Bird and Ottis Christopher Starr were divorced on 7 September 1945 at Genesee Co., MI. Berniece Margaret Bird married Kurtz J. Abbott on 7 February 1948 at Flint, Genesee Co., MI, Kurtz was previously married to Genevieve Harris and had a daughter, Dolores Maryetta, (1942-2000), who first married John Jackowiak, Jr. and had five children, then married Michael Stout. Berniece Margaret Bird died on 17 February 1999 at Burton, Genesee Co., MI, at age 86. She was buried in February 1999 at Davison Cemetery, Davison, Genesee Co., MI, Findagrave #212155429.

     Charles Monroe Bird was born on 3 November 1897 at Milford Twp., Knox Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Orley Adelphos Bird and Ida A. Hawkins. Charles Monroe Bird died on 10 June 1977 at Lorain, Lorain Co., OH, at age 79.

Cordelia May Bird lived on 5 January 1920 at 164 Davis Street, Bradford, McKean Co., PA.² She lived on 4 April 1940 at 38 School Street, Bradford, McKean Co., PA.³
