ESSIG – At her home in Hartley, Texas, Sept. 30, 1892, of typhoid fever, Susan, wife of Gotlieb Essing, aged 29 years, 11 months and 4 days. The subject of this notice was the daughter of Henry and Maria Strickler, who emigrated from Illinois to Grundy County, Iowa, many years ago.

Mrs. Essig, with her husband and family, moved to Texas in 1889, where they were living at the time of her death. The remains were brought to Grundy County, Iowa, for interment. She leaves a husband and two little children. Funeral services were conducted by Eld. Joseph Holder, of Indiana.
