Note: John Black, father of Evelyn Maye "Black", is named on her marriage record,Pennsylvania, Marriages, 1852-1968 [database on-line]. Lehi, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2016. Evelyn was listed on the 1910 census with her mother's surname, Kline, and her mother was unmarried.

The next door neighbor of the Klines in 1900 was a Mary Black, age 65, widow of William Black, with only her grandson, George (son of her son William), age 11, in the household. Possibly the John Black who was the father of Evelyn Maye Kline had some family relationship with this Mary Black. There were multiple men named John Black who lived in the area of Franklin County in the first decade of the 20th century -- identification of the father of Evelyn Kline appears to be unfeasible with publicly available documentation.
