MAPLE GROVE, MN -- Donna Maye Klemme, 90, formerly of Mason City, passed away peacefully Thursday (February 21, 2019) at her home in Maple Grove, MN.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday (February 28, 2019) at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 S. Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, with Reverend Steve Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City, with reception to follow at the church.

Donna Maye Triem was born on September 11, 1928, the daughter of William P. and Hazel M. (Hoselton) Triem. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1946 before attending and graduating from the Hamilton Business College; later becoming office manager and private secretary to the president of Hamilton College. Donna was united in marriage to James W. Klemme on September 29, 1968. Donna had three children by her first husband, Thomas Harry Walters: Lee, Jeffrey and Gail. Donna was a fashionista long before that was popular, with jewelry always to match. Some thought she was the owner of a dress shop.

Donna is survived by her husband, James Klemme, Maple Grove, MN, Lee (Mary) Walters, Maple Grove, MN, Jeffrey (Roxanne) Walters, Wichita, KS, Gail (Elliott) Hawk, Eagan, MN; seven grandchildren, Matthew Walters, Nicole (Walters) Summy, Jason Walters, John Walters, Shannon Schanus, Meagan Ira, Chris Jones and ten great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Nassen, and first husband Thomas H. Walters.

She was buried on 28 February 2019 at Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City, Cerro Gordo Co., IA, in the same plot alongside her mother.

     Dora Belle Triem was born on 10 July 1882 at Benton Co., IA. She was the daughter of Philip H. Triem and Alzina Julia Webster. Dora Belle Triem died on 18 July 1899 at Vinton, Benton Co., IA, at age 17. Cause of death: Suicide. She was buried in July 1899 at Westview Cemetery, La Porte City, Black Hawk Co., IA.

Edward Louis Triem lived on 18 April 1940 at 1269 Locust Street, West Des Moines, Polk Co., IA, construction worker.² He lived in 1944 at Des Moines, Polk Co., IA, listed in 1944 city directory with wife, Theodora. Edward L. Triem, 76, or Lakeland died Saturday. He was a native of Crandal, S.D., and came to this area 20 years ago from Staunton, Va. He was a retired construction estimator. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. He was a member of Church of the Resurrection.

He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Wenzlik of Fairbanks, Alaska; a son, Phillip of Watsonville, Calif; two brothers, Donald of Eugene, Ore., and Louis of Tooele, Utah; several nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Auburn, Benton Co., IA, Eight children born, four living as of 1900 census.³ Elizabeth Alice Triem lived in February 1897 at Waterloo, Black Hawk Co., IA, per her mother's obituary. "A SUDDEN DEATH: the infant child of Amelia Triem was found dead on Monday morning. It had been well the evening before. The doctor was called and he gave the cause of the baby's death as cramps. It was thought best however to notify the coroner and he came on Tuesday. The jury substantiated the doctor's opinion. The funeral will take place Thursday afternoon. The lawsuit Monday afternoon was dismissed, as it appears there had been a settlement made of which the complainant and guardian of the Triem children was not aware."
