     Elma M. Wendell was born circa 1904 at Greene Co., PA.¹ She was the daughter of Frances Etta Wendell.
Note: This child is listed in the 1910 census as a granddaughter of Andrew J. and Mary E. Wendell. She was apparently the daughter of either Etta or Jessie -- there is no way to know which. I have arbitrarily listed her with Etta until better information is available. DLB 2017.

     Elmer B. Wendell was born circa 1891 at IL. He was the son of Douglas Wendell and Mary E. Weyland.

     Eloise Adrienne Wendell was also known as "Catherine". She was born on 21 August 1943 at Cambridge, Middlesex Co., MA. She was the daughter of Robert Lee Wendell and Dorothy Louise Johnson. Eloise Adrienne Wendell died at New Jersey.

     Elsie D. Wendell was born on 26 September 1924 at Marshall Co., WV.¹ She was the daughter of William Eddison Wendell and Elsie G. Gribben.¹ Elsie D. Wendell married Dwaine Price Moose on 24 March 1941 at Belmont Co., OH, Dwaine remarried to Lois M. (Christen) Vogel on 9 SEP 1962 at Richmond, Indiana, and again in 1994, in Belmont County, Ohio, to Margaret M. Ralston.

Elsie D. Wendell and Dwaine Price Moose were divorced before September 1962. Elsie D. Wendell married Eugene Gerhardt Haach. Elsie D. Wendell lived between 1982 and 2020 at Milan, Gibson Co., TN.

     Emma J. Wendell was born in March 1874 at Perry Co. (probably), IN.^1,2 She was the daughter of Cyrus Wendell and Ruth A. Burr.¹ Emma J. Wendell married Samuel Enlow on 6 December 1893 at Perry Co., IN. Emma J. Wendell and Samuel Enlow were divorced in August 1900 at Perry Co., IN; Perry County Indiana Finalized Divorces, from Perry County Indiana Wills, Divorces, St. Augustines Baptismals, by Kristine Manley and Sharon Patmore page R-318. Emma J. Wendell married David M. Taylor, son of John M. Taylor and Nancy Knight, on 27 October 1900 at Perry Co., IN, An Orange County, Indiana marriage record shows that David married an Ivy Nelson, daughter of Henry Nelson, born Missouri, on 7 OCT 1882. No further record of her or her family found. DLB 2021. Emma J. Wendell lived in 1910 at Boon Twp., Warrick Co., IN.³ She lived in 1920 at Greer Twp., Warrick Co., IN.⁴ She lived in April 1930 at Montgomery Twp., Gibson Co., IN.⁵ She lived in April 1940 at Montgomery Twp., Gibson Co., IN.⁶ She died after April 1940.

     Emmett Fred Wendell was born on 31 October 1920 at Joliet, Will Co., IL.¹ He was the son of John Randall Wendell and Barbara Odelia Warnischar.¹ Emmett Fred Wendell died on 9 August 1990 at Will Co., IL, at age 69 Dates per SSDI, last residence Joliet.

     Erma Lee Wendell was born on 12 May 1916 at Kanawha Co., WV.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Edward Wendell and Maggie Lee Brown.¹ Erma Lee Wendell died on 5 April 1991 at age 74; dates per SSDI.

     Erscle Pauline Wendell was born on 8 March 1915 at Canton, Stark Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of John Delbert Wendell and Elsie Florence Shildtz. Erscle Pauline Wendell married Andrew E. Almasy, son of Andrew Almasy and Anna E. Olear. Erscle Pauline Wendell died on 5 February 1994 at Massillon Community Hospital, Massillon, Stark Co., OH, at age 78. She was buried in February 1994 at Sandy Valley Cemetery, Waynesburg, Stark Co., OH, Find A Grave Memorial# 67862825.

     Esther Wendell was born on 4 March 1906 at Ohio.¹ She was the daughter of Ellis Brill Wendell and Zetta Margaret Evans. Esther Wendell married Alvin A. Freeman, son of Charles Benjamin Freeman and Ella Bell Redd, circa 1924.² Esther Wendell lived on 14 April 1930 at 839 Davids Street, Marion, Marion Co., OH.² She lived on 4 April 1940 at 839 Davids Street, Marion, Marion Co., OH.¹ She died in January 1986 at Marion Co., OH, at age 79 Dates per SSDI, last residence Marion.

     Ethel Wendell was born in April 1899 at Mason Co. (probably), IL.¹ She was the daughter of Oscar P. Wendell and Myrtle M. Whitley.¹

     Ethel May Wendell was born on 1 April 1899 at Putnam Co. (probably), WV.¹ She was the daughter of George Nestor Wendell and Emeline Etta Greenleaf. Ethel May Wendell married Ralph Bryan Ecrement on 7 April 1917 at Summit Co., OH, This marriage was over before June 1921, when Ralph remarried to Bessie Crowl. Ethel May Wendell married William Thomas Harp on 13 July 1925 at Detroit, Wayne Co., MI. Ethel May Wendell married Everett Lee Walter in 1952. Ethel May Wendell died on 1 March 1988 at Akron, Summit Co., OH, at age 88. She was buried in March 1988 at Fairview Cemetery, Richfield, Summit Co., OH, Findagrave #160377223.

     Eva Jane Wendell was also known as "Effie". She was born on 29 June 1850 at Pike Co., OH.^2,3 She was the daughter of Phillip Wendell and Sarah Ann Warren. Eva Jane Wendell married George Arthur Thomas on 6 March 1873 at Logan Co., IL, 3 children born, 2 living as of 1900 census.³ Eva Jane Wendell lived in 1900 at Sheridan Twp., Logan Co., IL, living with sister Sarah (Wendell) Sampson.³ She died on 20 August 1914 at Lincoln, Logan Co., IL, at age 64. She was buried in August 1914 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Middletown, Logan Co., IL, Findagrave #64976328.

     Evelyn Lois Wendell was born on 12 February 1915 at Greene Co. (probably), PA. She was the daughter of William Eddison Wendell and Elsie G. Gribben. Evelyn Lois Wendell married Anthony Difazio. Evelyn Lois Wendell died on 21 August 2000 at Cameron, Marshall Co., WV, at age 85.

     Evelyn Sarah Wendell was born on 9 July 1897 at Kirksville, Adair Co., MO, 1900 census shows 1897, headstone inscription says 1898.¹ She was the daughter of Dr. Canada J. Wendell and Elizabeth Githens Morris. Evelyn Sarah Wendell married Leonard Huston Worcester, son of Samuel Frank Worcester and Emma Maud Antrobus. Evelyn Sarah Wendell lived on 15 April 1940 at 224 Missouri Avenue, Peoria, Peoria Co., IL, living with her parents, marital status was "M", husband and son not in the household.¹ She died on 1 August 1975 at Wheaton, DuPage Co., IL, at age 78. She was buried in August 1975 at Parkview Cemetery, Peoria, Peoria Co., IL, Find A Grave Memorial# 131805856.

     Everett John Wendell was born on 3 June 1896 at Hartburg, Logan Co., IL. He was the son of Dr. Canada J. Wendell and Elizabeth Githens Morris. Everett John Wendell married Lena M. Lovell on 7 June 1925 at Knox Co., IL. Everett John Wendell died on 27 January 1958 at Chicago, Cook Co., IL, at age 61. He was buried in 1958 at Parkview Cemetery, Peoria, Peoria Co., IL, Findagrave #131574182.

     Fanny M. Wendell was born in May 1890 at Logan Co. (probably), IL. She was the daughter of Thomas James Wendell and Mary Jane Bougham.

     Fara Wendell was born in February 1897 at Mason Co. (probably), IL.¹ She was the daughter of Oscar P. Wendell and Myrtle M. Whitley.¹

     Florence Delma Wendell was born on 23 November 1901 at Putnam Co., WV.¹ She was the daughter of George Nestor Wendell and Emeline Etta Greenleaf. Florence Delma Wendell married Ralph Delma Belchambers on 21 November 1923 at Summit Co., OH, no children. Florence Delma Wendell died on 24 January 2004 at Tallmadge, Summit Co., OH, at age 102. She was buried in January 2005 at Fairview Cemetery, Richfield, Summit Co., OH, Findagrave #158426116.

     Florence J. Wendell was born on 2 December 1899 at Hazel, Hamilin Co., SD.¹ She was the daughter of George Washington Wendell and Myrtle Evelyn Little. Florence J. Wendell died after 2 April 1940.

     Floyd M. Wendell was born in December 1886 at Sheridan Twp., Logan Co., IL. He was the son of George Wendell and Sarah Catherine Ohmart. Floyd M. Wendell married Bessie M. Ginther.¹ Floyd M. Wendell died in 1961. He was buried in 1961 at Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland, Logan Co., IL, Findagrave #144966722.

     Frances Wendell was born circa 1908 at Perry Co. (probably), IL. She was the daughter of Uriah Edward Wendell and Frances (?)

     Frances Estella Wendell was born on 19 June 1880 at Aleppo, Greene Co., PA, Frances apparently was born nine days after the 10 JUN 1880 census of Greene County, Pennsylvania, as per the 1900 census and her death certificate with information from her daughter Eva.^2,1 She was the daughter of William Smith Wendell and Martha Ann McCann.¹ Frances Estella Wendell married William Thomas Parshall, son of John Parshall and Phebe Patterson, in 1899 at Marshall Co., WV. Frances Estella Wendell lived in 1900 at Springhill Twp., Greene Co., PA, in the household of her husband's uncle Albert Parshall.² She lived on 27 April 1910 at Richhill Twp., Greene Co., PA, with her parents, marital status "M", mother of five children, all iiving. But only her infant daughter Eva was living in the household with her -- her son Cecil was living with his father as a boarder in the household of Rachael Daugherty in East Bethlehem, and sons Winnett, Paul, and Kenneth were in the county childrens home in South Strabane Twp., Washington County.¹ She and William Thomas Parshall were divorced on 16 October 1914; "Desertion by husband", per Greene County marriage license application, 26 DEC 1914, in Pennsylvania Marriage Records, via ancestry.com. Frances Estella Wendell married John William McClellan Burnfiel, son of Zenas Burnfiel and Sarah Johnson, on 26 December 1914 at Waynesburg, Greene Co., PA, This marriage was short-lived -- John W. M. Burfiel was living alone in January, 1920, in Akron, Ohio and gave his marital status as "W", and Frances was remarried to William Carpenter and living in Washington, Pennsylvania. Frances Estella Wendell married William M. Carpenter before January 1920, William Carpenter's first wife was Emma Cooper and his second wife was Ruth Vernon.³ Frances Estella Wendell died on 12 June 1960 at Washington, Washington Co., PA, at age 79. She was buried in June 1960 at Washington Cemetery, Washington, Washington Co., PA, Findagrave #180072398.

     Frances Etta Wendell was born on 14 July 1882 at Aleppo Twp., Greene Co., PA, per daughter Lillian's birth certificate.¹ She was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Wendell and Mary Elizabeth Davis.¹ Frances Etta Wendell married Charles W. Clark, son of William H. Clark and Hannah B. Cooper, on 3 September 1904 at Greene Co., PA. Frances Etta Wendell lived in April 1910 at Throckmorton Road, Franklin Twp., Greene Co., PA.² She died in January 1973 at Waynesburg, Greene Co., PA, at age 90.

     Frances Joann Wendell was born on 15 February 1930 at Sangamon Co., IL.¹ She was the daughter of James Francis Wendell and Cora B. Plush.¹ Frances Joann Wendell died on 7 May 2007 at Springfield, Sangamon Co., IL, at age 77 SPRINGFIELD - Joann Denton, 77, a lifelong resident of the Springfield area, died at 4:20 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2007, at her home.

She was born Feb. 15, 1930, in Springfield, the daughter of James and Cora Plush Wendell. She married Darrell Denton on Nov. 24, 1964. Her parents; half brother, Bert Hedrick; and two brothers, Robert and Donald Wendell, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Denton worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Co. in the accounting department. She then worked at St. Nicholas Hotel in the Glade Cafe as a waitress and then at Sangamo Electric Co. in the payroll department.

She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1948. She was a member of St. Agnes Church, the choir and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and spoiling her grandkids.

Surviving are her husband, Darrell Denton of Springfield; four sons, James J. Bennett of Rimrock, Ariz., Jeffery A. Bennett of Springfield, Michael K. (Tina) Bennett of Alton and Mark W. (Leigh Ann) Bennett of Springfield; a granddaughter; six grandsons; a great-granddaughter; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Dorothy Engel of LaHabra, Calif., and Wanda (John) Weber of Peoria; brother, Richard (Jean) Wendell of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 5 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007, at St. Agnes Church, with the Rev. Robert Jallas officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Agnes Church Choir.

     Francis Dana Wendell was born on 7 February 1899 at Leipsic, Putnam Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Harrison Fletcher Wendell and Laura Gallogly. Francis Dana Wendell married Joan Gertrude Keller, daughter of Ferdinand Keller and Gottlieben (?). Francis Dana Wendell lived between 1 April 1935 and 20 April 1940 at 11510 Scottwood Avenue, Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., OH, proprietor, electrical appliance store.² He married Clara Birchinger. Francis Dana Wendell died in April 1986 at age 87. He was buried in April 1986 at Knollwood Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., OH.

     Francis George Wendell was also known as George Francis Wendell. He married Margaret J. (?).¹ Francis George Wendell was born on 23 May 1880 at Illinois Birth date per SSDI.¹ He was the son of George Wendell and Sarah Catherine Ohmart. Francis George Wendell died in March 1973 at Logan Co., IL, at age 92 Death date per SSDI.

     Frank Wendell was born in 1910. He was the son of Robert Burns Wendell and Mary Maude Franks.

     Frank Otis Wendell was born on 11 June 1907 at Malden Dist., Kanawha Co., WV.¹ He was the son of Samuel Edward Wendell and Maggie Lee Brown.¹ Frank Otis Wendell married Junia Louise Childers, daughter of Alexander Celkirk Childers and Effa Lena Hill, in 1929 at Kanawha Co., WV.² Frank Otis Wendell lived on 9 April 1930 at Dickinson, Kanawha Co., WV, laborer in ammonia factory.² He lived on 6 April 1940 at Georges Creek, Kanawha Co., WV, coppersmith in chemical industry.³ He died on 2 September 1993 at Hillsborough Co., FL, at age 86.

     Franklin H. Wendell was born on 30 June 1865 at Beaver Twp., Noble Co., OH.³ He was the son of Henry Harrison Wendell and Melissa M. Hopkins. Occupation: Cigar manufacturing in 1900.
Note: From the Brownsville Herald, Brownsville, TX October 23, 1909:

"Frank's sister Hattie only had three weeks to live when they went to Donna, TX with Jerome Goodheart. The move took place five years after the death of their father Harrison in 1905."

The paper described funeral services and the purchase of some land just three or four miles west of Brownsville, along with the description of a setup of tents for housing. No reason given for the move to Texas.

Franklin H. Wendell lived in 1910 at Justice Precinct 2, Hidalgo Co., TX. He died on 4 June 1931 at Akron or Cuyahoga Falls, Summit Co., OH, at age 65 in the household of Julius Johannes (JJ) Buchholzer and Kathleen Shaw Buchholzer.

Kathleen was the daughter of David B Shaw and Jessie Wendell Shaw.
