     Freda Ann Wendell was born on 16 March 1913 at Kanawha Co., WV.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Edward Wendell and Maggie Lee Brown.¹ Freda Ann Wendell married Frank J. Newman, son of Samuel Newman and Laura Ann Williams. Freda Ann Wendell lived on 16 April 1940 at Malden District, Kanawha Co., WV.² She died on 28 November 1955 at Kanawha Co., WV, at age 42. She was the daughter of William Sherman Wendell and Rosa Marie Bragg. Freeda Oceanus Wendell married Paul Homer Braucher, son of Alban H. Braucher and Manella Nancy Keck, on 21 December 1918. Freeda Oceanus Wendell died on 1 October 1972 at Massillon, Stark Co., OH, at age 75. She was buried in October 1972 at Sunset Hills Burial Park, Canton, Stark Co., OH, Findagrave #89311805.
Note:

Freeda had an out-of-wedlock baby boy who was given to the father's family to be raised, and was given their surname, prior to her marriage to Paul Braucher. According to Olive Wendell Boyd, daughter of Freeda's brother Earl Wendell, both Freeda and her mother Rosa Wendell were in labor at the same time in different rooms in the house. This would indicate that Freeda's first son was born about 25 JUN 1917, same as her sister Sarah. According to Olive, Sarah Wendell knew the name of this same-age nephew and even worked with him at the Hoover factory in North Canton for some time. However his name was not known to Olive.

     Gail Gertrude Wendell was born on 11 April 1900 at Greene Co., PA.^2,1 She was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Wendell and Mary Elizabeth Davis.¹ Gail Gertrude Wendell married John Blatchley Tharp, son of Thomas Franklin Tharp and Cecilia Ann Kent. Gail Gertrude Wendell lived between 1930 and 1940 at Center Twp., Greene Co., PA.^3,4 She died on 7 July 1979 at Alquippa Hospital, Waynesburg, Greene Co., PA, at age 79.

     Garnett Nutter Wendell was born on 10 May 1895 at Fayette Co., WV.¹ He was the son of Robert H. Wendell and Frances B. Stinnett.¹ Garnett Nutter Wendell married Irene F. Fawver, daughter of William A. Fawver and Katie (?), on 16 July 1918 at Fayetteville, Fayette Co., WV. Garnett Nutter Wendell began military service U.S. Marine Corps. George W. Wendell, aged 70 years, of Richhill township, died Monday, March 10, in the Waynesburg hospital, following a three hours' illness from heart trouble. Mr. Wendell was here attending court and was taken ill on the street and removed to the hospital. Mr. Wendell was a son of Silas and Margaret Wendell and was born August 30, 1859, in Aleppo township. He had spent his entire life in western Greene county, where he was well known. He was serving as constable of Richhill township. His wife, Mrs. Jennie Murdy Wendell, died three years ago. Four children survive: Mrs Laura Cooper, of Wind Ridge; James Wendell, of Apollo; Ancel Wendell, of Butler, Pa; and W. E. Wendell, of Cameron, W. Va. Two sisters also survive, Mrs. Nancy Tharp, of Williamsfield, Ohio, and Mrs. Maria Armstrong, of Washington, Pa.

COSHOCTON – Mrs. Goldie Landis, 70, of RD 3 died Monday afternoon in Coshocton County Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

Born at Cambridge, a daughter of the late J.E. and Lillie Drubbs (sic) Wendell, she attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Canton. She was married in 1917 to Willard Landis, who survives.

Others surviving are 6 sons, Neilan of Newcomerstown, Donald and Ernest of West Lafayette, Paul of North Canton, Wendell of Wilmot and Loren of Pinesville (sic), Oreg; 2 daughters, Mrs. Mildred Register of Canton and Mrs. Dorothy Izey of Phoenix, Ariz; 2 brothers, Raymond of Canton and Ralph of Carrollton; a sister, Mrs. Roland Hein of Carrollton; 31 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Two sons and a daughter preceded her in death.

Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Dawson Funeral Home with Rev. Edsel Hartman officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery at Newcomerstown. Friends may call tonight from 7 to 9 and Thursday from 4 to 6 and 7 to 9.
