Robert "Bobby" Kenneth Wendell, 69, of Conway passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at his home. He was born February 8, 1944 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Jay B. and Dovie S. Wendell. Bobby was raised in Marion and graduated from Marion High School where he played football and was captain for the baseball team. After serving in the Army, he went to work for McGeorge Contracting. He retired in 2010 after 41 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, feeding the birds, gardening, painting, crossword puzzles and playing online games with former co-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Patricia Barron; and two brothers, Roger and Kermit Wendell. Bobby is survived by his spouse of 36 years, Susan Hauswirth Wendell; son, Phillip (Sean) Wendell and wife Bridget of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; daughters, Kris A. and husband Jason Eakin of Maumelle and Sarah Wendell and fiancee Casey Rainier of Fayetteville; grandchildren. Lacy, Hayes, Kyle, Hollis and Carter. Interment in Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock.

Roxie Mabel, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Wendell, of Garfield Avenue, died Monday morning about 4 o'clock. She was about two years of age and had suffered from consumption for the past four months. She was a bright little girl, a general favorite with all who knew her and her death is a sad blow not only to her family but to a large circle of friends. She bore her sufferings without complaining until the end. The funeral services took place at the home of the parents Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, interment in Northwood cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. J. Roby. She was buried on 5 November 1901 at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, Guernsey Co., OH.
