He began military service circa 1782 at Winchester, Frederick Co., VA, Served two tours, three months each, guarding prisoners at Winchester Barracks.      Ralph Atlee Wendell was born on 21 July 1915. He was the son of Joseph Edward Wendell and Lillian Jane Grubbs. Ralph Atlee Wendell married Mary Elizabeth Fawver, daughter of Henry Leroy Fawver and Bertha Mae Martin, on 27 October 1935, after Ralph died, Mary remarried to Perry William Marteney in 2007. Ralph Atlee Wendell died on 1 January 1995 at age 79. He was buried in 1995 at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Stark Co., OH, Findagrave #161280889.

     Ralph R. Wendell was born circa 1884 at Muskingum Co., OH. He was the son of Charles E. Wendell and Edith M. (?) Ralph R. Wendell married Anna (?) circa 1906 at Muskingum Co. (probably), OH.¹

Raymond Wendell married Lelia Mae Forney, daughter of Charles L. Forney and Emma (?). Raymond Wendell died on 10 June 1970 at age 68.

     Raymond C. Wendell was born on 26 August 1917 at Perkins, Scott Co., MO, WW II draft registration.¹ He was the son of John Harmon Wendell and Ida Mae Ingle.¹ Raymond C. Wendell lived on 16 October 1940 at Cody, Park Co., WY, employed by Kinkade Dairy, per WW II draft registration card. He married Ada Juanita Schlosser on 15 February 1942 at Oran, Scott Co., MO. Raymond C. Wendell lived in 1966 at Scott City, Scott Co., MO, per his father's obituary. He died on 15 April 1999 at Scott Co., MO, at age 81.

     Raymond Dale Wendell was born on 13 September 1930. He was the son of Raymond Wendell and Lelia Mae Forney. Raymond Dale Wendell began military service 5th Cavalry Regiment, Co. "G", 2nd Battalion, First Cavalry Diviision, U.S. Army. He died on 2 November 1950 at age 20 PFC Wendell was a member of Company G, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was seriously wounded on September 19, 1950 and returned to duty September 26, 1950. He was killed in action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 2, 1950. His remains were not recovered.

Six dwellings further on the same page is a James Finley household, with the oldest male and female both between 40 and 50, and 5 children, one of which is female. A second James Finley household is found on p.408A.² She lived in June 1870 at Williamsburg (now Batesville), Noble Co., OH.³ She died on 13 November 1874 at Beaver Twp., Batesville, Noble Co., OH.      Rebecca Wendell was born circa 1860 at Ohio birth date per 1880 census info. Possibly Rebecca was a twin of Millie Jane, as the documented birth dates of Millie and Sarah during 1859 - 1860 do not allow for a third child during the interim.¹ She was the daughter of John Wendell and Rebecca Hart.¹ Rebecca Wendell lived in 1880 at Millwood Twp., Guernsey Co., OH, living in the household of her father, 1880 census. She died before June 1900 In the 1900 census, Hattie was listed as an adopted child in the household of Marion M. Fisher, who was her appointed legal guardian. Later, in October 1902, the guardianship record refers to her mother as Rebecca Wendell "late of" an unstated location in Monroe County. DLB 2015.

     Rebecca A. Wendell was born circa 1853 at Guernsey Co. (probably), OH.^1,2 She was the daughter of Cyrus W. Wendell and Margaret Spears.¹ Rebecca A. Wendell married Silas Pettit, son of Silas Cooper Pettit and Sarah Meeks, circa 1868.³ Rebecca A. Wendell lived on 4 August 1870 at Aleppo Twp., Greene Co., PA.² She lived on 15 June 1880 at Franklin Twp., Greene Co., PA.⁴ She died in 1882 at Greene Co. (probably), PA.      Rhoda Ellen Wendell was born in 1847 at Beaver Township, Noble Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of John Wendell and Rebecca Hart. Rhoda Ellen Wendell married James Hopkins after 9 July 1870. Rhoda Ellen Wendell died on 27 May 1929 at Huntertown, Allen Co., IN.

     Richard A. Wendell was born in January 1887 at Kanawha Co. (probably), WV.¹ He was the son of John Henry Windell and Mary Ellen Hicks.¹ Richard A. Wendell lived in 1940 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., WV, living in his mother's home. In the 1940 census, Richard is listed as "WD", but in 1930 he was single. Apparently a brief marriage occurred duing the 1930s.
