     Moses Whitson was the son of Moses Whitson and Elizabeth Taylor.

     Nelle V. Whitson was born on 3 August 1883 at Indiana. She was the daughter of Thomas W. Whitson and Belle Dora Nuckles. Nelle V. Whitson married Daniel F. Dawalt, son of Francis M. Dawalt and Nancy Coombs, on 3 October 1908 at Washington Co., IN. Nelle V. Mrs. Nelle Dawalt Dies Early Today
     Mrs. Nelle Dawalt, 55, widow of Dan Dawalt, died at one o’clock this morning at the home of her sister Mrs. Roy Huckleberry, 205 South Posey, following several months’ illness.
     Daughter of Thomas and Belle Nuckles Whitson, her entire life was spent in Salem.
     She was a graduate of Salem high school, a member of Weir Memorial Methodist Episcopal church, the Wesleyan Circle, the missionary society, of which she was treasurer the North Side home economics club, the Royal Neighbor and Pythian Sister lodges, and was treasurer of the Samuel Reid Woman’s Relief Corps and W. R. C. district treasurer. A fine business woman she ably served many years as bookkeeper for the Salem Building Loan Fund and Savings Association.
     A natural-born scholar she was intensely interested in education and loved the beautiful in literature, art, music and nature.
     A son, Raymond, died a number of years ago.
     Funeral rites will be held at three o’clock Thursday afternoon at Smith Funeral Home with burial in Crown Hill cemetery.
     Surviving are the son, Lieutenant Kenneth Dawalt, a graduate of the United States Military Academy, who is stationed at Schofield Barracks, Honolulu and two sisters, Mrs. Elmo Wood, New Castle and Mrs. Huckleberry.

She was buried in July 1939 at Franklin Cemetery, Washington Co., IN.

     Samuel Whitson was born on 10 November 1788. He was the son of Thomas Whitson and Hannah Harlan Starr. Samuel Whitson married Rachel Moore on 13 March 1811. Samuel Whitson died on 21 August 1863 at age 74.

     Sarah Whitson was born on 8 September 1793. She was the daughter of Thomas Whitson and Hannah Harlan Starr. Sarah Whitson died in July 1863 at age 69.

     Note: Buried at Old Sadsbury Meeting House - a son of Thomas and Elizabeth Whitson, and brother to the wife of Jeremiah Starr. Thomas Whitson was born on 27 September 1760 at Lancaster Co., PA. He was the son of Thomas Whitson and Elizabeth Burt. Thomas Whitson married Hannah Harlan Starr, daughter of Moses Starr and Sarah Harlan, on 31 October 1787 at Friends meeting E. Sadsbury Meeting House, Chester Co., PA. Thomas Whitson died on 1 June 1826 at Sadsbury Twp., Chester Co., PA, at age 65.

     Thomas Whitson was born on 7 February 1796. He was the son of Thomas Whitson and Hannah Harlan Starr. Thomas Whitson married Martha Hobson on 17 May 1827. Thomas Whitson died on 27 November 1864 at age 68.

     Thomas Whitson married Elizabeth Burt.

     Betty June Whittaker was born on 22 May 1923 at Leland, LaSalle Co., IL. She married Warren G. Hoxsey in 1942. Betty June Whittaker died on 14 August 2011 at Peru, LaSalle Co., IL, at age 88. She was buried in August 2011 at West Serena Cemetery, Serena, LaSalle Co., IL, Findagrave #75108140.

     Florna J. Whittaker was born circa 1886 at Tennessee. She was the daughter of B. F. Whittaker and Margaret (?)¹ Florna J. Whittaker married Warren Ursinus Christman, son of Rev. David Miller Christman and Myra S. Weidner, on 19 December 1910.¹

     Ida Belle Whittaker was born on 19 August 1858 at Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of Isaac N. Whittaker and Sarah A. Sedgewick.¹ Ida Belle Whittaker married William Barnes, son of John T. Barnes and Margaret Ann Starr, on 12 March 1879 at Richland Co., IL. Ida Belle Whittaker died on 22 December 1929 at age 71. She was buried in December 1929 at Bethel Cemetery, Parkersburg, Richland Co., IL, Findagrave #38633003.

     Isaac N. Whittaker was born circa 1832 at Indiana.¹ He married Sarah A. Sedgewick.¹ Isaac N. Whittaker lived on 7 July 1870 at Madison Twp., Richland Co., IL, farming.¹

     Pansy Viola Whittaker was born on 14 September 1916 at Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau Co., MO. She was the daughter of Russell Joseph Whittaker and Dora B. Copeland. Pansy Viola Whittaker married Dorsey Noel Wendell, son of John Harmon Wendell and Ida Mae Ingle, on 3 September 1949 at Flint, Genesee Co., MI, Pansy was previously married to Noble F. Arnold (1912 - 1963) in 1934, and had at least three children with him, Norman, Barbara, and Clyde. Pansy Viola Whittaker died on 18 May 1993 at Ravenna, Portage Co., OH, at age 76. She was buried in May 1993 at Evergreen Cemetery, Streetsboro, Portage Co., OH, Findagrave #94981473.

     Russell Joseph Whittaker was born on 22 September 1876 at Perry Co., MO. He married Dora B. Copeland on 22 May 1898 at Malden, Dunklin Co., MO. Russell Joseph Whittaker died on 23 July 1960 at Flint, Genesee Co., MI, at age 83. He was buried in July 1960 at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc, Genesee Co., MI.

     Annie Louise Whitten was born circa July 1915 at Navarro Co., TX.¹ She was the daughter of Robert Marion Whitten and Annie Louise Giesler.¹

     Betty Jean Whitten was also known as "B.J." She was born on 28 December 1934 at Dallas, Dallas Co., TX. She was the daughter of Robert Edwards Whitten and Eva Elizabeth Cook. Betty Jean Whitten married Lt. Jerry Dan Godwin. Betty Jean Whitten lived in 1973 at Concord, Contra Costa Co., CA. She died on 2 February 2014 at Colmesneil, Tyler Co., TX, at age 79

Betty Jean (B.J.) Whitten Fink, 79, has gone home to be with her Lord. B.J. was born December 28, 1934 to Robert Edwards and Elizabeth Cook Whitten in Dallas, Texas. She died February 2, 2014, at her home on Lake Amanda in Colmesneil, Texas, surrounded by her family. B.J. is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Walter, son Jerry Dan Godwin, Jr., daughter Kirsten Hardmant and numerous nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Murdock in 2006; and her brother, Robert Edwards Whitten.

After graduating from Highland Park High School in 1953, in Dallas, she attended the University of Texas.

B.J., Walt and family moved to Concord, California, in 1968, where she dedicated her life to Jesus Christ. B.J. became an accomplished prize-winning artist, author, speaker, song writer, chaplain, prayer warrior, encourager and more. She wrote, produced and directed several Christian plays, which were well received at various churches in California and Texas. While on the speaking circuit of the Christian Women’s Clubs in Northern California, she ministered to many new Christians. She also started a neighborhood bible study that grew to more than 150 women that became a new chapter of Women’s Aglow International, a parachurch ministry.

After returning to Texas in 1979, B.J. and close friend, Elizabeth Brown, started a Women’s Aglow chapter in Dallas. Moving to Houston in 1983, she started a local group, ‘Christians in the Performing Arts’ and again she started a Women’s Aglow chapter there. B.J. was instrumental in the beginning of a new Christian musical drama based on the second chapter of Acts. This ministry grew into “Upper Room Ministries” which was presented nationally and internationally. As a minister ordained by Foundation Ministries to serve our Lord, she served as a Chaplain at the Woodville Health and Rehab. Her ‘Love and Laughter Publishing Co.’ produced a very helpful guide to prayer titled “Time With God.”

B.J. loved her comfortable home by Lake Amanda. Her talents are seen there, displayed and admired by her family and visitors. B.J. will be missed by all who knew her.

Services to celebrate her life will be at First Baptist Church, Woodville, Texas on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Visiting and fellowship at 10:00 a.m.

     Jane Whitten was born on 25 September 1924. She married Richard A. McRee III. Jane Whitten died on 1 April 2002 at age 77. She was buried in April 2002 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Iuka, Tishomingo Co., MS, Findagrave #15560697.

     Lela Whitten was born circa 1888 at Ohio.¹ She married Dorsey Wakeley. Lela Whitten died after April 1940.

     Col. USA Marion Eugene Whitten was born on 18 January 1908 at Corsicana, Navarro Co., TX.¹ He was the son of Robert Marion Whitten and Annie Louise Giesler.¹ Col. USA Marion Eugene Whitten married Kathleen Reed on 12 March 1932 at Durant, Bryan Co., OK; ceremony by Forrest E. Dudly, Pator, First Methodist Church of Durant. Eugene remarried to Neva L. Frost on 21 OCT 1989, Harris County, TX. Col. USA Marion Eugene Whitten began military service WW II, Korea, and Vietnam War service, U.S. Army.      Randall Edwards Whitten was born on 30 August 1957 at Dallas Co., TX. He was the son of Robert Edwards Whitten and Ruth Lillian Wendleton. Randall Edwards Whitten lived between 1989 and 1996 at Dallas, Dallas Co., TX. He lived in 2000 at Little Rock, Pulaski Co., AR. He died on 27 January 2003 at age 45 per SSDI, last residence Dallas.

Robert Edwards Whitten lived in 1942 at 5943 Mercedes Avenue, Dallas, Dallas Co., TX, WW II draft registration, employed at Gifford-Hill & Co., Dallas. He and Eva Elizabeth Cook were divorced before October 1946; ; It appears that the Whittens were separated in 1942 when Robert gave information for his WW II draft registration, because he was living in Dallas and gave his next of kin as his wife who was living in Corsicana. Elizabeth was listed as "WD" on the 1950 census -- a fiction.

Robert Edwards Whitten married Ruth Lillian Wendleton on 12 October 1946 at Dallas Co., TX.
