  • Alfred/Albert Cecil Windell+ b. 16 Dec 1910, d. 14 Nov 1978; This relationship is suspected but not documented at this time. John L. B. Windell's first wife Ada Booker had died some time prior to the 1910 census, and John had moved back in with his parents, who were the legal guardians of Katie Hempfling as of April, 1910. He later remarried to India Hunt, relocated to Cincinnati before 1920, and had a family with her there, where he worked as a carpenter. He returned to Harrison County, Indiana before the April, 1930 census, and died there in 1974. In the 1920 census, Elvira (Binkley) Windell was listed as Calvin Ripperdan's mother in-law, but of course she was not Katie Hempfling's mother, she was the grandmother of Alfred/Albert Windell. Alfred/Albert Cecil Windell was listed as a step son of both of Katie's husbands, Calvin Ripperdan and John L. Windell. DLB 2013
