Nannie Alverta Windle married Clyde Smith Quesenberry Sr., son of James Claude Montgomery Quesenberry and Mary Elizabeth Lawson. Nannie Alverta Windle died on 7 August 2003 at Wythe County Community Hospital, Wytheville, Wythe Co., VA, at age 89

DRAPER, Va. -- Nannie Alverta Windle Quesenberry, 89, of Draper died Thursday night, August 7, 2003, in the Wythe County Community Hospital.

She was born in Pulaski County on December 31, 1913, and was the daughter of the late William and Bessie Windle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Smith Quesenberry, Sr., and by two grandsons, Wayne and Mike Akers and by a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Hughes.

She was a member of the Draper's Valley Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are: five Daughters & Sons-in-Law, Betty & Charlie Akers, Pulaski; Ruby & Earl Hughes, Johnson City, TN; Janet & James Copenhaver, Collinsville; Gale & Perry Kipps, Christiansburg; Two Sons & Daughters-in-Law, Buddy & Patty Quesenberry, Draper; Jimmy & Bonnie Quesenberry, Draper; One Sister, Ruby Tickle, Draper; 12 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Visiting will be Saturday evening, August 9, from Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Saturday night at 8:00 PM following the visitation. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM from the Draper's Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Wythe County.

     Nellie A. Windle was born circa 1901 at Shenandoah Co. (probably), VA.¹ She was the daughter of David Windle and Rebecca E. Burke.¹

Fleming, on 13 August 1906 at Athens Co., OH. Nellie May Windle died in April 1927 at Columbus, Franklin Co., OH, at age 41.

     Nellie Pearl Windle was born on 28 August 1907 at Pulaski Co., VA. She was the daughter of Alonzo Ogetta Windle and Mary Jane Clark. Nellie Pearl Windle married Jesse Samuel Carnell, son of Jessie Franklin Carnell and Elisa Alberta Swecker. Nellie Pearl Windle died on 8 March 1990 at Wythe Co., VA, at age 82. She was buried in March 1990 at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, Pulaski Co., VA, Findagrave #152495841.

     Nelson Windle was born on 9 December 1912 at Columbus, Franklin Co., OH. He was the son of Frank Benjamin Windle and Bertha Olive Beard. Nelson Windle married May Jeanette Miller, daughter of Amos Miller and Mary Hallen, on 21 April 1935 at Columbus, Franklin Co., OH. Nelson Windle died before 2008.

     Netta Windle was born circa 1867 at Shenandoah Co. (probably), VA.¹ She was the daughter of John P. Windle and Savilla Fenton House.¹

     Nettie M. Windle was born on 18 May 1870 at Dodson, Montgomery Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Annanias Windle and Emeline Baker.¹ Nettie M. Windle married John O. Davis on 26 November 1896 at Montgomery Co., OH. Nettie M. Windle lived on 6 June 1900 at 1513 West Third Street, Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH.² She died on 19 December 1943 at age 73.      Newton Windle was born circa 1864 at Columbiana Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Caleb Windle and Jane Hawley.¹

     Nicholas Windle was born on 3 March 1857. He was the son of John Adams Windle and Mary R. (?) Nicholas Windle died on 30 January 1935 at Henderson, Rusk Co., TX, at age 77.

     Note: 1870 Census, Morgan Twp., Scioto Co., Ohio lists Nicholas living with his son Enoch, he is listed as without occupation at age 60. Catherine, his wife is also listed living with Enoch, she is also without occupation, age 58.
1880 Census, Brushcreek Twp., Scioto Co, Ohio lists Nicholas age 73 Lame, and Catherine age 70 as keeping house.

Nicholas Hetrick Windle and his wife Catherine Hillyard were married in Martinsburg , VA. His father John Windle was born in Germany. They had 12 children, They came to Monroe County, Ohio with four children: Grafton W., Mary E. Snyder, Anna, wife of William Smith now deceased and Dr. Jacob H. They came from Winchester through Wheeling, to Carlyle, in Monroe county. They remained there until June 5, 1847, when they landed in Portsmouth. They started to go to Illinois, but stopped off at Portsmouth, where they found Thomas Davis, a former neighbor. Mr. Davis was then carrying on a glove factory in Portsmouth and was short of hands. Mrs. Windle was an expert glove maker, and Mr. Davis induced her to stay, to teach his hands how to make gloves, and so the family remained in Portsmouth and the vicinity from 1847-1850, and then moved to Adams County, Bacon Flats. They remained there one year and then moved to Munns Run. Nicholas Hetrick Windle was born on 17 March 1807 at Frederick Co., VA. He was the son of John Windle and Eve Anderson. Nicholas Hetrick Windle married Catherine Hillyard circa 1825 at Martinsburg, Berkeley Co., VA (now WV), Total of 12 children, per census info. Nicholas Hetrick Windle lived in August 1860 at Springville, Greenup Co., KY, census page 801. He died on 27 January 1881 at Scioto Co., OH, at age 73. He was buried in January 1881 at Newman Cemetery, Adams Co., OH.

     Nicholas Hettrick Windle was born on 28 October 1862 at Greenup Co., KY. He was the son of Dr. Jacob Hillyard Windle and Sarah A. James. Nicholas Hettrick Windle married Melzena Florence Freeman circa 1881. Occupation: Laborer -- stone in 1910 at Rarden Twp., Scioto Co., OH. Nicholas Hettrick Windle died on 22 June 1924 at age 61.

     Noah Windle was born in May 1859 at Shenandoah Co., VA.¹ He was the son of Richard Wendel and Naomi Wilkin. Noah Windle married Fannie M. (?) circa 1879.² Noah Windle married Louisa B. (?) circa September 1892 at Shenandoah Co., VA.¹

     Noble H. Windle was born circa May 1909 at Clay Co. (probably), IL.¹ He was the son of Augustine Windle and Millie Moore.

     Noel R. Windle was born on 23 November 1909 at Harter Twp., Clay Co., IL.¹ He was the son of Arley W. Windle and Maude F. Johnson.¹ Noel R. Windle died on 26 June 1910 at Clay Co., IL. He was buried in June 1910 at Camp Ground Cemetery, Xenia, Clay Co., IL, Findagrave #25385987.
