26 Dec 1940
Miss Elizabeth Wyscarver, a former Batesville community resident, passed away at her home in Columbus, Friday December 13. She was eighty-nine years of age and was born in Noble county, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Wyscarver, prominent family and pioneers of this section. For many years Miss Wyscarver had lived in Columbus, where her hospitality was continued and her home was open for many dinner parties to friends and relatives.

The news of the death of our respected fellow citizen, G.W. Wyscarver, created a profound sensation, as it was not known that he was ill. He died from Typhoid fever. A few weeks ago he was in Caldwell, apparently in good health. His protracted siege of the same disease in 1879 perhaps rendered him less able to resist a subsequent attack. George was an honest man, and will be greatly missed among his many friends, who were greatly attached to him because of his genial good nature and sterling integrity. He leaves a wife and large family of children.
He was buried in February 1882 at Wyscarver Cemetery, Beaver Twp., Noble Co., OH, Findagrave #197285909.
