Kingsport - Evelyn Brown DeVault, 1648 New Bern Rd., died friday, Dec. 4, 1987, at the home of her brother, Charles W. Brown, Raleigh, N.C.
She ws a native of Bristol, Virginia, and had spent most of her life in the Kingsport area. She was the widow of W. Paul DeVault and a retired employee of First American Bank. She was a member of Waverly Road Prebyterian Church. She was a member of Kingsport Chapter No. 1106 of the Women of the Moose.
Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Keesee, Alexandria, Va., Mrs. Aileen Moore, Waynesville, N.C., and Mrs. Mildren Moore, Bristol; and several nieces and nephews.

PARK HILLS - Faye E. Counts, 70, of Park Hills passed away October 27, 2014, at Country Meadows Nursing Home. Faye was born October 25, 1944,at Rolla,Mo.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Emmett and Anita (DaVault) Brown; husband, Eugene Counts; brothers, Robert Brown and Richard Brown; and sister, Wilma J. Kitchell.

Faye is survived by her sons, Timothy Counts of Charleston, Mo., Gary Counts of Park Hills, Robert (Tina) Counts of Davis Crossing and Jeff Counts of Bismarck; daughter, Rebecca (Randall) Helms; grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Brionna, Emily, Jacob, Rebecca, and step-grandson, David. Brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be 3:30-8 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home in Park Hills. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014, at Horton-Wampler Chapel with Rev. Robert Adams officiating. Burial will be at Layne Cemetery.

     Hadassa Brown was born in December 1815 at Washington Co. (probably), MD.^2,1 She was the daughter of George Brown and Esther Morrison. Hadassa Brown married Simon Long, son of Isaac Long and Elizabeth Slifer, in August 1853 at Washington Co., MD, Hadassa first married Lewis Downey, August 1834 Washington County, MD, and relocaed with him to Ogle County, IL. After Lewis died in 1849, she returned to Washington County with her children and married Simon Long in August, 1853.^2,1 Hadassa Brown died on 28 March 1901 at age 85.

     Harold Brown was born on 12 February 1899. He was the son of Charles Delbert Brown and Eldora Mae Huppert. Harold Brown died in June 1977 at age 78.

     Harry T. Brown was born on 8 December 1885 at Minnesota. He married Helga Mathilda Haugan, daughter of Knute O. Haugan and Laura Marie Hyem. Harry T.
