WOODSTOCK, Va. - Virginia "Ginny" Brunk Hollida, 97, of Craven Hall, Woodstock, Va., formerly of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at the Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg. The Rev. James Embrey will officiate.

Mrs. Hollida was born March 13, 1908, in Singers Glenn, Va., daughter of the late Rev. John H. and Viola Funk Brunk.

She was formerly employed by Potomac Edison Power and Citizens National Bank of Martinsburg, before leaving the work force to become a full time wife and mother. She was a member of Christ Reformed Church and the Dillon Sunday School Class. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.

Mrs. Hollida married George Reynolds Hollida on April 16, 1934, in Baltimore, Md.

She was preceded in death by her husband; five brothers, Welby Brunk, Edgar Brunk, Joseph Brunk, Byard Brunk and Dwight Brunk; and two sisters, Leona Stewart and Marguerite Landis.

Mrs. Hollida is survived by a son, George S. and his wife, Mary C. Hollida of Maurertown, Va; a sister, Dorothy B Michael of Martinsburg; three grandchildren, Laurie Thomas of Edgewater, Fla., Tammy Weigel of Dublin, Ga. and Tony Bauserman of Maurertown, Va; six great-grandchildren, Joshua Thomas, Lauren Weigel, Matthew Weigel, Paige Weigel, Justin Bauserman and Trevor Kerns; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Arlene Thietje, 89 died Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Tieszen Memorial Home, Marion. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the First Church of Monroe with burial in the Monroe Cemetery. Arlene Vera Thietje was born on October 10, 1928 near Winner, SD to Ferd and Anna (Mahoney) Brunmeier. After graduating from Winner High School she was united in marriage to Ernest Thietje on June 1, 1946. They farmed in the Winner area before moving to Monroe in 1956. She ran Ernie’s Place for a number of years and was the city of Monroe finance officer. She was a member of the VFW Auxilary, attended First Church of Monroe, loved to play bingo and bowl. She has been a resident of the Tieszen Home since 2009.

Grateful for having shared her life are her 3 children, Wayne (Sandy LaPoint), Monroe, Daryl (Addamaine), New Prague, MN, and Karlene (Leon) Schoenwald, Monroe; 6 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; a sister Vivian Ruhkamp, Yuma, AZ; and 2 sister in laws, Twila Brunmeier, Winner and Clara Bailey, Powell, WY. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest in 2004, and a brother Leonard.

She was buried in June 2018 at Monroe Reformed Church Cemetery, McCook Co., SD, Findagrave #190808792.

PONTIAC - Mary S. Reynolds, 81, of 706 W. MacArthur Ave., Bloomington, formerly of Pontiac, died at 5:40 a.m. Thursday (April 10, 1997) at her daughter's home in Bloomington. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, Pontiac, the Rev. Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating. Burial will be in Esmen Township Cemetery, rural Odell. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Pontiac.

Survivors include three sons, James A. Preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters, Olga Brunskill, Dorothy Brunskill, and Olive Leckie; and two brothers, John and Byron Brunskill.

She was born Nov. 16, 1915, in Pontiac, the daughter of George William and Mary E. White Brunskill. She married LaVerne Arthur Reynolds July 1, 1941, in Cahokia, Mo. (sic) He died Feb. 27, 1978.

She attended Pontiac schools, graduating from Pontiac Township High School in 1934. Having attended Illinois State University to study art, she wrote poetry, did charcoal drawings and loved decorating.

She was buried in April 1997 at Camp Cemetery, Pontiac, Livingston Co., IL, Findagrave #113016271.
