Elizabeth Carlisle Dennard
CARTHAGE – Funeral services for Elizabeth Carlisle Dennard, age withheld by family, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, with Bro. Mike Cross and Bro. Dustin Cross officiating under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Martin Cemetery.
Ms. Dennard died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, in Carthage. She was born on Oct. 22, in Millsap to Clayton and Abbie Payne Carlisle. She married James Clinton Dennard on Oct. 18, 1946. Ms. Dennard was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Tatum.
Survivors include her husband, James Dennard of Carthage; children, Jim Dennard, Bruce Dennard and Betsi Cross all of Carthage, and Ronny Dennard of Lake Murval; a sister, Fai Carlson of Boise, Idaho; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Clint Dennard, John Dennard, Andy Dennard, Cody Bush, Justin Welch and David Shivers.
Memorials may be made to Heartsway Hospice, 1306 Pine Tree Road, Longview, TX 75604.

She was buried in January 2006 at Martin Cemetery, Tatum, Rusk Co., TX.

Ivan Clayton Carlisle began military service on 25 November 1940 at Huntsville, Walker Co., TX, Enlisted, U.S. Army, first seargent, later Lieutenant, Army Infantry. Served in North Africa Theatre, Italy, Prisoner of War detained in Germany. He died on 12 December 1980 at Bexar Co., TX, at age 68. He was buried in December 1980 at Jourdanton City Cemetery, Jourdanton, Atascosa Co., TX.

Private Marvin A. Carlisle, 21, formerly a resident of Bartlett was killed last Thursday when the motorcycle he was riding crashed head on into an automobile on a curve near El Paso. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Carlisle now of Irving Texas.
Survivors are his parents, two sisters, Elizabeth and Beulah Carlisle of Irvin[g], and two brothers, E. J. Carlisle of Irvin[g] and Lieutenant Ivan C. Carlisle of Camp Bowie.

IRVING, Texas, Oct. 24. - Private Marvin A. Carlisle, 21, who was killed Thursday when the motorcycle he was riding crashed head on into an automobile on a curve near El Paso, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Carlisle of Irving.
Time of funeral service is pending the arrival of the body from El Paso.
Survivors include his parents, two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Carlisle, Miss Beulah Fai Carlisle, Irving, two brothers, E. J. Carlisle, Irving, and Lieut. Ivan C. Carlisle, Camp Bowie, Brownwood.
Private Carlisle was stationed at Fort Bliss. He had been in the service seventeen months.
The Rev. W. P. Jones, Pastor Irving Baptist Church, will officiate at the burial rites at the church. Interment will be in Sowers Cemetery, Irving.

Note: Marvin A. Carlisle's name is inscribed on the Irving Veterans Memorial, Irving, Dallas County, Texas.
