He married Maria Elisabetha Weber, daughter of Johann Jakob Weber and Magdalena Neumann, on 12 March 1789 at Lambsborn, Palatinate.² Occupation: Ackerer, Gemeindsmann of Lambsborn. Wihelm Michael Buhles died on 2 January 1841 at Lambsborn, Palatinate, at age 76.³

     Wilhelm Buhles was born in 1888 at Altenkirchen, Palatinate. He was the son of Ludwig Buhles and Carolina Hettrich. Wilhelm Buhles died in 1964 at Neuenkirchen, Rhein-Pfalz, Germany.

     Helen Kathleen Buhrle was born on 1 March 1912 at Kansas. She was the daughter of Shelton G. Buhrle and Allie Elnora Ryan.      Shelton G. Buhrle was born on 4 October 1866 at Missouri. He married Allie Elnora Ryan on 18 December 1895 at Jackson Co., MO. Shelton G. Buhrle died before 11 April 1930 at Kansas.

     Bessie Buhrman married Leslie Stouffer Rinehart, son of Daniel D. Rinehart and Susan Clara Stouffer, on 14 June 1906.

     Abram Bulger was born on 19 December 1784 at Frederick Co., MD, or Pennsylvania, per 1850 census.¹ He married Christiana Puterbaugh. Abram Bulger died on 2 March 1854 at North Liberty, Knox Co., OH, at age 69. He was buried in March 1854 at North Liberty Cemetery, North Liberty, Knox Co., OH, Findagrave #71040313.

     Alice Edna Bulger was born on 16 January 1914 at Alameda Co., CA.¹ She was the daughter of Roy L. Bulger and Edna Johnson. Alice Edna Bulger married Kenneth Breckenridge, son of Henry Clarke Breckenridge and Dessie Linder, on 31 August 1936 at Sacramento Co., CA. Alice Edna Bulger died on 22 February 2008 at California at age 94 per SSDI, last residence Vallejo.

     Lydia Bulger was born circa 1828 at Pennsylvania.^2,1 She was the daughter of Abram Bulger and Christiana Puterbaugh.² Lydia Bulger married Michael Kunkel, son of Samuel Kunckel and Barbara Lutz, on 30 January 1853 at Knox Co., OH.

     Mary Bulger was the daughter of Abram Bulger and Christiana Puterbaugh. Mary Bulger married Michael Kunkel, son of Samuel Kunckel and Barbara Lutz, on 11 September 1834 at Knox Co., OH.

     Roy L. Bulger was born in November 1892 at California.¹ He married Edna Johnson, After Roy Bulger's death, Edna remarried to Guy S. O'Neal before 1920 and had several more children with him.

Roy L. Bulger died on 15 August 1914 at San Francisco Co., CA, at age 21. He was buried in August 1914 at Benicia City Cemetery, Benicia, Solano Co., CA, Findagrave #160727854.

     Philip Henry Bulken was born on 19 September 1935 at Utica, Oneida Co., NY; son of Frederick G. and Sarah Gladys (Daymont) Bulken. He married Leslie Hope Jopson, daughter of Harry Gorgas Michener Jopson and Hope Power Wilson, in 1957. Philip Henry Bulken died on 4 October 2019 at Bridgewater, Rockingham Co., VA, at age 84

Philip H. Bulken, 84, of Bridgewater, VA, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019, at his home.

Philip was born in Utica, NY, on September 19, 1935, a son of the late Gladys (Daymont) and Frederick Bulken.

He retired in 1995 after 37 years of service from GE where he worked in engineering resources. He was a member of Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church in Fort Defiance, VA, and had served in the U.S. Army.

On June 8, 1957, he was united in marriage to Leslie (Jopson) Bulken, who survives.

He is preceded in death by a brother & sister in law, Frederick & Nancy Bulken.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church in Fort Defiance, VA, with Rev. Beverly A. Moore-Tasy officiating. Light refreshments will be served following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sentara RMH Hospice, 2010 Health Campus Dr., Harrisonburg, VA 22801.

     Hannah Bull was born on 4 March 1836 at Brown Co., OH.¹ She married Joshua Shenkel, son of Christian Miller Shenkel and Mary Margaret Morris, on 10 March 1859 at Adams Co., OH. Hannah Bull died on 7 October 1886 at Farmersville, Livingston Co., MO, at age 50.

     Irene Althea Bull was born on 19 May 1909 at Milledgeville, Carroll Co., IL. She was the daughter of Joseph G. Bull and Myrtle Eliza Hasting. Irene Althea Bull married James Albert Curry, son of George William Curry and Maria Sarah Irwin, on 29 February 1928 at Lynden, Whiteside Co., IL. Irene Althea Bull died on 25 January 1932 at Sterling Hospital, Sterling, Whiteside Co., IL, at age 22. Cause of death: Pneumonia, secondary cause: nephritis. She was buried in January 1932 at South Elkhorn Cemetery, South Elkhorn, Carroll Co., IL, Findagrave #45115033.

James Albert was 67 and living in Sterling, IL when Irene died. Their 3 children were kept by housekeepers for a time. Then they were sent to MOUNT CARMEL HOME in Mt. Carmel, Ill., originally called MOUNT CARMEL FAITH MISSIONARY TRAINING HOME AND ORPHANAGE. A list of children who lived there from 1935-1949 is in the Curry file. James Albert Curry, Jr., Lelia Belle Curry, and Norma Jeanne Curry were residents there in 1937. Information on the home is in the MEMORIES section of Lelia's notes.

(James Albert had been raised in a similar religion (Church of the Brethren) by his parents, George and Maria Irwin Curry. I'm sure he was familiar with their teachings so he felt comfortable sending the children to this Amish orphanage.) At some point between 1932 and 1936 James Albert lived in Tampico, Ill.

In June 1937, Jame's small children were moved and raised in the Oddfellow orphanage in Lincoln, Logan Co., Ill, so James moved there to be close to them. He had a house trailer that he moved to Lincoln, Ill., from Tampico, Ill. The trailer turned over around Peoria, Ill. James lived in a shanty he built near the brick plant where he worked in Lincoln, Ill. At some point James had a lady friend named Mrs. Slayton. Lelia believes she took a trunk which belonged to James. It contained pictures and quilts. James remained in Lincoln, Logan Co., Ill., until his death.

1940 Census, James Albert continued to live in Lincoln, Logan Co., Ill., and was 75 years old. His children were still living at the Oddfellow orphanage.

Dec. 26, 1942, James Albert Curry died at the Deaconess Hospital in Lincoln, Logan Co., IL, at age 78. He was in the hospital 5 days. The night before they were planning to dismiss him he asked for a glass of water. When he raised to get it his heart valve did not close and he died at 9:30 PM. He was buried on December 29, 1942, at Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown, Ill.,at the direction of his daughter Mabel. Since Emma Isadora Rigg and James Albert had been divorced in 1926, James Albert had a cemetery stone inscribed to be buried with his 2nd wife, Irene Althea Bull, who preceded him in death Jan 25, 1932. Mabel did not honor his wishes, however. (Emma Isadora Rigg did not die until Feb. 8, 1960).

I have James Albert Curry's death certificate as well as one for his wife, Irene Althea Bull.

     Joseph G. Bull was born on 10 August 1886. He married Myrtle Eliza Hasting. Joseph G. Bull died on 21 June 1960 at age 73. He was buried in June 1960 at South Elkhorn Cemetery, South Elkhorn, Carroll Co., IL, Findagrave #45115065.

     John Bullas married Elizabeth Lynch.

     Rhoda Catherine Lucille Bullas was also known as "Lucille". She was born on 3 January 1898 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA. She was the daughter of John Bullas and Elizabeth Lynch. Rhoda Catherine Lucille Bullas married William Jerome Rankin, son of Dr. James Jerome Rankin M.D. and Mary Virginia Doyle, on 2 February 1916 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA. Rhoda Catherine Lucille Bullas died on 19 April 1997 at Whittier, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 99.

     Carol May Buller was born on 16 July 1954 at Sioux Falls, Minnehaha Co., SD. She was the daughter of Lowell Lavone Buller and Lillian Henrietta Heng.¹ Carol May Buller married Harlan Hershey Smith, son of Eldon Edward Smith and Betty Jean Davidson, on 18 July 1975 at Turner Co., SD. Carol May Buller died on 20 February 2005 at Marion, Turner Co., SD, at age 50. She was buried in February 2005 at Greenwood Cemetery, Marion, Turner Co., SD, Findagrave #84731947.

     Lowell Lavone Buller was born on 28 September 1909 at Turner Co. (probably), SD.¹ He was the son of Peter Henry Buller and Lydia C. Zimmerman.¹ Lowell Lavone Buller married Lillian Henrietta Heng on 12 April 1936 at Parker, Turner Co., SD. Lowell Lavone Buller died on 9 May 1990 at age 80. He was buried in May 1990 at Rosehill Cemetery, Parker, Turner Co., SD, Findagrave #92559414.
