     Charles Winslow Burdick was born on 23 August 1838 at Evansville, Crawford Co., PA. He was the son of Nelson Burdick and Almira Mason. Charles Winslow Burdick married Ida M. Pagin, daughter of Dr. Lewis Pagan and Maria Stover, on 21 November 1894 at Winneshiek Co., IA.¹ Charles Winslow Burdick died on 7 March 1913 at Decorah, Winneshiek Co., IA, at age 74.

     F. M. Burdick married Rosa (?).¹

     Jacqueline Florence Burdick was born on 17 October 1934. She married Robert Earl Conwell, son of Ray H. Conwell and Sarah Elizabeth Boyd. Jacqueline Florence Burdick died on 11 March 2004 at age 69. She was buried in March 2004 at Rangely Cemetery, Rangely, Rio Blanco Co., CO.

     Juanetta May Burdick was born on 3 September 1922.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel E. Burdick and Sylvia Flager.¹

     Nelson Burdick was born on 14 June 1809 at Wyoming Co., NY. He married Almira Mason on 1 January 1831. Nelson Burdick died on 1 July 1885 at age 76.

     Perry Donald Burdick was buried at Lawn Ridge Cem, Speer, Marshall Co., IL. He was born on 30 July 1890 at Valley Twp, Stark Co., IL. He married Margaret Amelia Crooks, daughter of James Buchanan Crooks and Abigail Belle Larimore, on 28 September 1915 at Peoria, Peoria Co., IL. Perry Donald Burdick died on 25 January 1976 at Lake Worth, Palm Beach Co., FL, at age 85.

     Phoebe Burdick was born circa 1872 at Iowa.¹ She married Andrew Jackson Buchanan. Phoebe Burdick died after 14 April 1930.

     Samuel E. Burdick was the son of F. M. Burdick and Rosa (?)¹ Samuel E. Burdick married Sylvia Flager, daughter of William Flager and Emma C. Hamsher, on 24 December 1918.¹ Samuel E. Burdick lived in 1926 at Yale, Payne Co., OK.¹

     Vivian Louise Burdick was born on 21 January 1921.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel E. Burdick and Sylvia Flager.¹

     Thelma Burdine was born on 10 September 1937 at Squib, Pulaski Co., KY. She married Donward Sherrill Mayfield. Thelma Burdine died on 28 September 2006 at Somerset, Pulaski Co., KY, at age 69.

     Lee Burg married Georgia Linville, daughter of Leroy V. Linville and Minnie McKee, on 14 January 1921 at Delaware Co., IN.

     John Yost Burgard was born on 6 December 1883 at Pennsylvania. He was the son of Peter S. Burgard and Mary Yost. John Yost Burgard married Margaret W. Little, daughter of Washington Adam Millard Little and Hermeon Blanche Wortz, on 1 January 1912 at York, York Co., PA. John Yost Burgard died on 16 March 1954 at age 70.

     William L. Burgard was born on 16 January 1913 at Pennsylvania. He was the son of John Yost Burgard and Margaret W. Little. William L. Burgard died on 6 December 1990 at Montgomery Co. (probably), MD, at age 77.

     Amalie Burgderfer was born on 12 February 1848 at Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH. She was the daughter of Andrew Burgderfer and Louisa Faulhaber. Amalie Burgderfer was christened on 16 April 1848 at Jerusalem Church, Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH. She died on 12 January 1850 at Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH, at age 1. She was buried in January 1850 at Jerusalem Cemetery, Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH.

     Anable Burgderfer was born in September 1876. She was the daughter of Louis W. Burgderfer and Sarah A. Rochey. Anable Burgderfer died in April 1880 at age 3.

     Andreas Burgderfer was born on 6 October 1860 at Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Andrew Burgderfer and Louisa Faulhaber.¹ Andreas Burgderfer died on 18 December 1862 at Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH, at age 2. He was buried in December 1862 at Jerusalem Cemetery, Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH.

     Andrew Burgderfer was born on 17 October 1805 at Palatinate The article by Rosalie Burgderfer says he was born in the same part of Germany as his wife, therefore it must have been in the Palatinate.¹ He married Louisa Faulhaber, daughter of Isaak Jakob Ludwig Faulhaber and Anna Louisa Munzinger, circa 1834 at Seneca Co., OH. Andrew Burgderfer died on 21 December 1897 at Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH, at age 92 Obituary from "Seneca Advertiser" December 24,1897:

Andrew Burgderfer, one of the oldest residents and pioneers of Seneca County, died early Wednesday at his home seven miles southwest of Tiffin, in Seneca Township, aged ninety-two years. The funeral takes place at Bethel church at 10 o'clock Friday morning conducted by the Rev. A. C. Shuman. Interment will be made in Bethel cemetery by the side of his wife, who died thirteen years ago. Andrew Burgderfer was one of the sturdy pioneers of Seneca county. He was born in Germany and came to this country with his wife early in the thirties, entering the land on which he resided ever since and which was then a dense forest. This he cleared and cultivated and at his death owned several hundred acres of choice farm land. He was the father of a large family, of whom several children survive. They are: Caroline, wife of Adam Sprow, John, Henry, and Mary, wife of John Culver, all of Seneca Township; Catherine, wife of Christian Sprow, of Allegheny, Michigan; Rev. Louis Burgderfer, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Frank, of Missouri.

Andrew Burgderfer, one of the early settlers of Seneca County, was born October 17, 1805 in Bavaria, Germany. According to his grandson, Miley Burgderfer, Andrew Burgderfer at age 18 and with 27 other people, left Heidelberg, Germany, on a sailing vessel to sail for America. They met with much hardship on their voyage. Their ship wrecked and they were without food. To survive, they ate raw sea gulls. By
the time they reached America, only 13 people had survived.
Andrew Burgderfer worked his way to Ohio. A Seneca County land entry record for Andrew is dated July 12, 1834. He took 80 acres of land to homestead in Seneca Township near New Riegel. The first winter he took shelter in a large hollow tree with a Jacob Staib before he was able to build a shack.
There was little food except for cornmeal and wild game. The following summer Andrew met and later married Louisa Fowlhaber. She was born February 1, 1816 in the same area of Germany. Louisa and her family came on another vessel and settled near Fostoria. Andrew and Louisa built a home and
raised a large family: Caroline (1835-1902) married Adam Sprau; Julian (1838-before 1897) married Jacob Sprau; Catherine (1840-after 1897) married Christian Sprau; Louis (1843-after 1897) married S. A. Rochey; Frank (1845-September 13, 1925) married Susan Troxel; Amalie (February 12, 1848-January 12, 1850); Wilhelm (July 27, 1850-August 18, 1850); Henry (November 12, 1851-November 8, 1949)
married Margaret Culver; John (August 27, 1854-September 28, 1912) married Alice Miley; Mary Ann (August 12, 1856-March 14, 1944) married John Culver; Andreas (October 6, 1860-December 18, 1862). Andrew was a trustee when the German Evangelical Lutheran and German Reformed Protestant
Congregation of Seneca Township was organized July 16, 1848. This church later reorganized as Salem Reformed Church. Miley Burgderfer also said that his grandfather donated money towards the establishment of Heidelberg College. Louisa died on February 6, 1885. Andrew lived on his farm until his death on December 23, 1897. John Burgderfer and wife Alice (1858-1933) continued to farm this homestead raising three children:
Hale Andrew (1883-1961), Miley John (!885-1977), and Nellie L. (1887-1933). John died September 28, 1912 when horses pulling a mowing machine spooked and started running. John was caught in the machine and killed. His son, Hale, had earlier called him to supper, but John wanted to finish the field. Hale later saw the horses and rushed to the field. Hale brought the horses under control and found his father. Hale took over the farm. Miley married Rae W. Wininger March 24, 1907, and Lora West July 16, 1960. Miley and Rae (1886-1955) moved to a farm near McCutchenville. They had four children: Karl Vinton
(1909-1964) married Evelyn May Houk May 16,1936; Charles R. (1911-1976) married Vera Bartlebaugh January 7, 1933; Helen Rae (1919) on June 14, 1945 married Francis Staib, a great, great grandson of Jacob Staib; and Robert Duane (1924) married Eileen Palmer on August 25, 1946, and Imogene Kear Stauch on June 29, 1979. Both Charles and Duane served in World War II. Andrew and Louisa, as well as a number of their decendants, are buried in Bethel Cemetery. Many of their descendants still live in Seneca County and the surrounding area. Submitted by Rosalie Burgderfer."

     Blaine Frederick Burgderfer was born on 27 May 1884 at Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH. He was the son of Henry S. Burgderfer and Margaret A. Culver. Blaine Frederick Burgderfer died on 6 June 1911 at Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH, at age 27. He was buried in June 1911 at Bethel Cemetery, Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH.

     Blanche L. Burgderfer was born circa 1872 at Kansas.² She was the daughter of Frank A. Burgderfer and Susan B. Troxel.¹ Blanche L. Burgderfer married Charles W. Black on 24 December 1891 at St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., MO, Five children born to the marriage, four living as of 1910 census.²

     Caroline Burgderfer was born in 1835 at Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH. She was the daughter of Andrew Burgderfer and Louisa Faulhaber. Caroline Burgderfer married Adam Sprau, son of Henry Sprau and Elizabeth Hofmann, on 30 March 1857 at Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH. Caroline Burgderfer was buried in 1902 at Bethel Cemetery, Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH. She died in 1902 at Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH.

     Catherine Burgderfer was born in September 1839 at Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Andrew Burgderfer and Louisa Faulhaber. Catherine Burgderfer married Christian Sprau, son of Christian Sprau and Susanna Scherer, on 23 December 1866 at Seneca Co., OH.

     Charles Burgderfer was born on 6 May 1911 at McCutchenville, Seneca Co., OH. He was the son of Miley John Burgderfer and Rae W. Weininger. Charles Burgderfer married Vera Maxine Bartlebaugh, daughter of George Bartlebaugh and Anna (?), on 7 January 1933. Charles Burgderfer died on 16 January 1976 at Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH, at age 64. He was buried in January 1976 at Bethel Cemetery, Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH.

     Clarence Lewis Burgderfer was born on 3 December 1877 at Montcalm Co. (probably), MI.^1,2 He was the son of Louis W. Burgderfer and Sarah A. Rochey.^1,2 Clarence Lewis Burgderfer married Mabel T. Martin, daughter of Lucretia (?), circa 1900.

     Donald T. Burgderfer was born circa 1897 at Jackson Co. (probably), MO.¹ He was the son of Frederick C. Burgderfer and Josephine (?)¹ Donald T. Burgderfer married Lois P. T. Hamblin on 2 October 1916 at Jackson Co., MO.

     Dow Henry Burgderfer was born on 11 January 1882 at Seneca Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Henry S. Burgderfer and Margaret A. Culver.¹ Dow Henry Burgderfer married Armeda A. Woods. Dow Henry Burgderfer married Meda (?) circa 1908.² Dow Henry Burgderfer was buried in 1937 at Bethel Cemetery, Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH. He died in 1937.

     Frances E. Burgderfer was born circa 1903 at Michigan.¹ She was the daughter of Clarence Lewis Burgderfer and Mabel T. Martin.¹

     Frank A. Burgderfer was born on 23 October 1845 at Seneca Twp., Seneca Co., OH.^1,2 He was the son of Andrew Burgderfer and Louisa Faulhaber. Frank A. Burgderfer married Susan B. Troxel, daughter of Henry Troxel and Eliza (?), on 15 October 1868 at Seneca Co., OH, Ceremony by H. Rust, citation #60445, "Marriages of Seneca County, Ohio, 1841 - 1899"

Two children born to the marriage, per 1900 census. But, the children don't match -- Fred (1900) is a decent match to Fred (1880), but in 1880 a Blanche, age 8, was the elder child. In 1900, Joseph was the elder son. The 1900 F. Burgderfer may be the wrong individual. DLB 2008.² Frank A. Burgderfer lived on 3 January 1920 at Poplar Avenue, Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO.³ He died on 13 September 1925 at age 79.

     Frederick C. Burgderfer was born in September 1869 at Seneca Co., OH.^1,2,3 He was the son of Frank A. Burgderfer and Susan B. Troxel.^2,1 Frederick C. Burgderfer married Josephine (?) circa 1896.³
