Stewart Memorial Fund. Dorothy Ione was born April 19, 1912 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of William Henry and Mittie M. (Patton) Burr. Dorothy grew up in Marshalltown where she gradated from the Marshalltown High School in 1930. She was married to Kenneth Eldon Stewart, September 27, 1934 in Gallatin, Missouri. She worked for a brief time at Lennox Industries during WWII and later worked at Fisher Controls for 10 years. Dorothy was an avid bowler, enjoyed crocheting, ceramics and playing cards. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Dorothy is survived by her hausband; Kenneth Stewart, Marshalltown, Iowa, two daughters: Sandra and husband Rex Slingluff, Marshalltown, Iowa and Densie Stewart, St Louis, Missouri, four grandchildren: Robin & Husband Mark Johnston, Patricia and husband Kirk Moats, Diane Wooster and Jill & husband Dale Schultz and three great grandchildren: Travis Schumann and Derrick & Lindsi Moats. she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter: Sally, five sisters and two brothers.

     Elizabeth J. Burr was born in September 1833 at Indiana As an adult, Elizabeth always showed Ohio as her birth location. However in the 1850 census, her parents indicated that Lavina and all the children were born in Indiana.^1,2 She was the daughter of Alvin L. Burr and Lavina (?) Elizabeth J. Burr married John A. Windell, son of Frederick Windell and Elizabeth Smith, on 4 April 1853 at Henry Co., IN, Seven children born, five living as of 1900.^1,2
Note: One of the eldest three daughters married a Longnecker and had a daughter Josephine, about 1874, who appears as a grandchild in the household in 1880. Cannot find any Indiana marriages or nearby Longneckers with whom to associate this child. (DLB 2006.)

     Elizabeth Morgan Burr was born in February 1837. She was the daughter of Charles E. Burr and Sophia R. (?) Elizabeth Morgan Burr married Joseph West Starr, son of Charles West Starr and Elizabeth Wilson, on 24 January 1865 at Nebraska. Elizabeth Morgan Burr died on 20 January 1914 at TX at age 76.

     Elva Reesa Burr was born on 18 November 1882 at Missouri. She was the daughter of Rizon William Burr and Belvadesa C. Hunt. Elva Reesa Burr married Leigh W. Slocum, son of Albert G. Slocum and Mary E. Dorn, in February 1909. Elva Reesa Burr died on 27 September 1962 at Fresno Co., CA, at age 79.

     Eunice Burr was born on 8 October 1836.¹ She was the daughter of Chauncey H. Burr and Jane Williams.¹ Eunice Burr married George David Noffsinger, son of John S. Noffsinger and Elizabeth Trout.¹ Eunice Burr was Lutheran.¹ She died on 8 September 1918 at Kokomo, Howard Co., IN, at age 81.¹ She was buried in September 1918 at Crown Point Cemetery, Kokomo, Howard Co., IN, Find A Grave Memorial# 45515107.

     Isaac Burr was born circa 1807 at Somerset Co., PA.¹ He married Mary Gilham on 15 September 1828 at Belmont Co., OH. Isaac Burr died in 1895 at Stone Co., AR.

     Prince Rezin Burr was born on 3 August 1879 at Missouri. He was the son of Rizon William Burr and Belvadesa C. Hunt. Prince Rezin Burr married Arabella Mary Raddon, daughter of Henry Raddon and Anna Cooke, in 1900. Prince Rezin Burr died in 1903.

     Rizon William Burr was born on 10 August 1849 at Lamar, Barton Co., MO. He was the son of Myranda Burr and Emily Ellis. Rizon William Burr married Belvadesa C. Hunt, daughter of Thomas Hyder Hunt and Rachel Mary DeVault, on 3 April 1873 at Kenoma, Barton Co., MO. Rizon William Burr died on 11 April 1920 at Tulare Co., CA, at age 70.

     Ruth A. Burr was born on 25 January 1850 at Ohio Birth date calculated from headstone legend "Aged 33y 2d."^1,2 She was the daughter of Isaac Burr and Mary Gilham.¹ Ruth A. Burr married Cyrus Wendell, son of John Wendell and Rebecca Hart, on 24 November 1867 at Noble Co., OH. Ruth A. Burr died on 27 January 1883 at Oil Twp., Perry Co., IN, at age 33. Laura Belle Burroughs, daughter of William Dean and Mary Ellen Burroughs, was born September 12, 1887, near Juniata, Nebr. She departed this life October 13, 1962, following a lingering illness.

She attended school near Hansen. In her early childhood, she became a member of the Presbyterian Church in Hansen.

She was married to James McClure on September 23, 1908, at Hastings. To this union were born four children. They made their home for six years on a farm northwest of Gibbon, in 1914, they moved to the present home where they have lived for the past 48 years.

She transferred her membership from the Hansen Presbyterian Church to the Bladen Methodist Church and some years later to the Blue Hill Methodist Church of which she was a member.

She was superintendent and organist in the Cloverton Sunday school and was sent by the American Sunday School Missionary Society to conduct as superintendent the Baton Sunday School for several years.

She read her Bible daily but was unable to attend church the past five years because of her affliction. She carried on a wide correspondence for years that brought her many friends.

James and Laura McClure were privileged to celebrate the Golden wedding anniversary in 1958.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband James of Blue Hill; two daughters, Mrs. Norman Johnson of Blue Hill and Mrs. Fredrick Van Boening of Bladen; two sons, Glen of Grand Island and Victor of Hebron; two brothers; Jesse A. Burroughs of Hastings, Roy B. Burroughs of San Diego, Calif; eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Blue Hill Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 15 the Rev. Norman Bloom officiated. He was assisted by the Rev. J. Frank Barteson. Miss Betty Karr sang “Asleep in Jesus,” and “Beyond the Sunset.” She was accompanied by Mrs. Norris Augustin.

Pallbearers were Earl Mattack, Ray Jones, Earl Churchill, Gus Schulz, August Krueger and Carrol Turner. Burial was in the Blue Hill cemetery.

     Elizabeth Burrow was born on 25 October 1911 at Greenbrier Co., WV.¹ She was the daughter of John Devereux Burrow and Geraldine Dickson.¹ Elizabeth Burrow married Lyne Moncure Shackelford, son of Virginius Randolph Shackelford and Peachy Gascoigne Lyne, on 2 October 1948 at Orange Co., VA. Elizabeth Burrow died on 7 April 2007 at age 95. She was buried in April 2007 at Graham Cemetery, Orange, Orange Co., VA, Findagrave #20474319.

     John Devereux Burrow was born on 16 June 1868 at Norfolk, VA. He married Geraldine Dickson on 8 October 1908 at Virignia. John Devereux Burrow died on 10 November 1913 at near Lewisburg, Greenbrier Co., WV, at age 45

Norfolk, Va., November 10. -- John Deverux (sic) Burrow, president of the Burrow-Martin Drug Company, of this city, died to-day at his country home near Lewisburg, W. Va. He was forty-six years old. He retired from active connection with the drug company here which was established by his father, the late John W. Burrow, eight years ago and moved to Greenbrier County. He was one of the best known business men of this city. He is survived by two brothers -- Dr. Frigail Burrow of Baltimore, and Allan G. Burrow, of Norfolk.
