She was buried in 1979 at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City, Guernsey Co., OH, Findagrave #35163961.

     Sarah Ann Buys was born on 20 May 1809 at Galen, Ontario Co., NY. She married Alfred Benjamin Walton in 1830 at Sodus, Wayne Co., NY. Sarah Ann Buys died on 2 September 1855 at Willow Creek, Great Salt Lake Co., UT, at age 46.

     Mary Buzby married Griffith Lewis.

     Daniel Buzzard was born circa 1801 at Maryland.¹ He married Susanna Randles circa 1831.¹ Daniel Buzzard died on 2 June 1903 at Columbus, Cherokee Co., KS.

     Elvira E. Buzzard was born circa 1862 at Iowa.¹ She married G. James Raymond circa 1880.¹

     Grace Pearl Buzzard was born on 4 July 1884 at St. Marys, Pottawatomie Co., KS.^2,1 She was the daughter of Joseph L. Buzzard and Caroline M. Shaw.^2,1 Grace Pearl Buzzard lived on 16 June 1900 at Elk Creek Twp., Republic Co., KS, with her mother and step-father.¹ She married William Eldridge Shafer, son of William H. Shafer and Evelyn Brazie, circa 1902.³ Grace Pearl Buzzard lived in April 1910 at Horton, Brown Co., KS.³ She lived on 22 January 1920 at Clifton, Washington Co., KS.⁴ She lived on 4 April 1930 at Vining, Washington Co., KS.⁵ She lived between 1 April 1935 and 3 April 1940 at Stanislaus Co., CA.⁶ She died on 1 February 1977 at Stanislaus Co., CA, at age 92

Grace P. Shafer

Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Oakdale Memorial Chapel for Grace Pearl Shafer, 92, who died Tuesday in the Oakdale Convalescent Hospital. The Reverend Bob Jones, pastor of the Oakdale Christian Church, will officiate.

Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Modesto.

A native of St. Marys, Kansas, Mrs. Shafer had lived in the Riverbank area since 1939.

Surviving are her sons, George and Dale Shafer of Riverbank, and Harold Shafer of Trinity Center; two daughters, Ruby Ramsdell of Pleasant Hill, Oregon and Lila Henderson of Oakdale; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

     Joseph L. Buzzard was born on 29 December 1860 at Iowa.^1,2 He was the son of Samuel Buzzard and Catherine Knouse.^3,2 Joseph L. Buzzard lived on 1 March 1875 at Louisville Twp., Pottawatomie Co., KS.² He married Caroline M. Shaw, daughter of Joseph Addison Shaw and Missouri Catherine Ketner, on 21 July 1883 at Manhattan, Riley Co., KS. Joseph L. Buzzard lived on 1 March 1885 at St. Marys, Pottawatomie Co., KS, stone cutter, living next door to his brother William's family. William also appears to have been working as a stone cutter.⁴ He and Caroline M. Shaw were divorced on 3 September 1895 at Pottawatomie Co., KS;

The reference to Mrs. Vinnedge and to a brother Samuel shows that this Joe Buzzard was the husband of Carrie Shaw.

Unfortunately, there were two Joseph L. Buzzards, of about the same age, living in Pottawatomie County during the 1875 - 1900 period of time, making references to "Joe" or "J. L." Buzzard difficult to isolate. The "other" Joe Buzzard was the son of William and Mary (Harrison) Buzzard, of Belvue. They had no son named Samuel, and their daughter, Mary E. Buzzard, was a different person than Samuel Buzzard's daughter Mary Catherine Buzzard who married Lucius E. Vinnedge. DLB 2020.

     Margaret Buzzard was born circa 1832 at Pennsylvania.¹ She was the daughter of Daniel Buzzard and Susanna Randles.¹ Margaret Buzzard married Thomas Hutchison Bragg, son of John Bragg and Rebecca Hutchison, on 10 October 1853 at Guernsey Co., OH, Marriage book "B", p.102. Margaret Buzzard died circa 1858 at Guernsey Co., OH.

     Samuel Buzzard was born in 1820 at Somerset Co., PA.^2,1 He married Catherine Knouse in 1852. Samuel Buzzard lived on 1 March 1875 at Louisville Twp., Pottawatomie Co., KS, farming.³ He died in 1909 at Wamego City Cemetery, Wamego, Pottawatomie Co., KS, Findagrave #34954422.

     Madeline Clifford Buzzell was born on 30 March 1900 at New York. She married Rev. David Kitzmiller Barnwell, son of Allen Yost Barnwell and Julia A. Kitzmiller, on 15 July 1960, no children. Madeline Clifford Buzzell died in November 1994 at Medford, Burlington Co., NJ, at age 94.

     Harriet Ellen Byard was born on 31 December 1839 at Ohio.^1,2 She married John Wesley Lopp, son of John Lopp and Mary Magdalena Pittman.      Loretta Augusta Byard was born on 9 February 1918. She married Carl Edward King in 1937 at Monongalia Co., WV. Loretta Augusta Byard died on 30 July 2001 at age 83. She was buried in August 2001 at Fort Laurens Cemetery, Bolivar, Tuscarawas Co., OH, Findagrave #150906698.

     Delbert Ray Byerley was born on 2 January 1927 at Ft. Wayne, Allen Co., IN. He was the son of Raymond Lewis Byerley and Georgia Marie Monroe. Delbert Ray Byerley began military service in 1948 WW II era military service. He married Gloria Ann Swigert, daughter of Irey Theodore Swigert and Luella Martin, on 12 January 1951 at Indiana, license date. Delbert Ray Byerley died on 15 September 1992 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Ft. Wayne, Allen Co., IN, at age 65 Obituary (Findagrave.com):

DELBERT R. BYERLEY, 65, of Fort Wayne died Tuesday in St. Joseph Medical Center.

A lifelong resident, he retired from Dana Corp. in 1990 after 27 years. He was employed as a deliveryman for Keltsch Pharmacy. He was a World War II veteran and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake Township, Lions Club, I.O.O.F., and Senior Golf League.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria; a son, Jeffrey of Fort Wayne; daughters, Jennifer Keltsch and Jeanette Downham, both of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling will be 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 Wells St., with services at 3 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

     Lola B. Byerley was born in September 1895 at Harrison Co., IN.¹ She was the daughter of Isaac Newton Byerley and Lavica Burnia Wolfe.¹

     Otto Raymond Byerley was also known as "Artie". He was born on 7 September 1890 at Harrison Co., IN. He was the son of Isaac Newton Byerley and Lavica Burnia Wolfe. Otto Raymond Byerley married Maude P. Quebbeman, daughter of William Quebbeman and Maranda Blair, on 19 February 1919 at Harrison Co., IN. Otto Raymond Byerley died on 8 August 1945 at age 54. He was buried in August 1945 at Pfrimmers Chapel Cemetery, Corydon, Harrison Co., IN.

     Raymond Lewis Byerley married Georgia Marie Monroe.
