William Warner Carpenter

M, b. 1 May 1812, d. 16 August 1893
     Note: He is in his father's household in the 1820 and 1830 Census. He is head of the household on page 70 of the 1840 Rockingham Co. Census with one male 5-10 (?), one male 20-30 (he is 28), one female under age 5 (Sarah age 2), one female 20-30 (Phebe).

By November, 1850 when the census was taken, his first wife, Phebe Henton, has died and he has married her cousin Hannah Henton. He is a farmer aged 36 who was born in VA and has real estate valued at $15K. His household consists of Hannah age 24, Sarah age 12, Margaret age 9, Catherine age 6, Sarah age 79 (his mother), and James Reed age 26 (a miller). His daughter Catherine is also counted in his sister, Elizabeth (and Enos) Keezle's household as is his son George (age 3). These are all children from his first marriage-- he and Hannah were just married in November.
