JoAnn Carrier Dunlap BLUFF CITY, Tenn. Mrs. JoAnn Carrier Dunlap, age 86, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Verda Staples Carrier. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dunlap was preceded in death by her husband, Jac Dunlap; and her son, Stephen Sisk. Mrs. Dunlap is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Conrad and Lynette Sisk of Bluff City; granddaughter, April Osborne of Bristol Tennessee; grandsons, Christopher Sisk of Seymour, Tenn., and Nathan Sisk of Blountville, Tenn; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Jean Carrier of Bluff City; sisters; Marilyn Miller of Bluff City, and Virginia Lee Meredith of Bluff City. Mrs. Dunlap is also survived by several great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A private funeral service will be held for Mrs. Dunlap at a later date. David Kitzmiller, son of David Kitzmiller and Elizabeth Hughes, on 1 September 1857 at Washington Co., TN. Elizabeth G. Carriger lived in June 1900 at 131 1/2 North Broadway, Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA, with her daughter Julia's family. Elizabeth was also listed as the head of household at her residence in Carter County, Tennessee in 1900, but her adult chldren Margaret and Nannie were living there as well as her granddaughter Ona Cole, so it is possible that she was not physically in Tennessee at the time.2 She died on 28 August 1901 at Carter Co., TN, at age 67. She was buried in 1901 at Hunter Cemetery, Carter Co., TN.

Henry Beebe Carrington began military service Civil War service, U.S Army, Brig. Gen. He married Frances Courtney, Frances was first married to George Washington Grummond and Henry was first married to Margaret Irvin Sullivant. Henry Beebe Carrington died on 26 October 1912 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA, at age 88

Civil War Union Brigadier General. Prior to the Civil War, he was Adjutant General of the Ohio State Milita. When President Lincoln issued the call for troops, he organized the volunteer regiments that were placed in Virginia and was commissioned Colonel of the 18th Ohio Infantry, in May 1861. In 1862, he was sent to Indiana and established an intelligence network to deal with rebel sympathizers. He was promoted Brigadier General in command of the District of Indiana and his intelligence sources were instrumental in quelling the operations of political societies and enemies againest the Union. In 1864, he rejoined the 18th Ohio and completed his war duty in the Army of the Cumberland. Following the Civil War, he was made commander of the Mountain District, Department of the Missouri and moved his regimental headquarters to Colorado, in 1866. He conducted military operations amid many attacks from hostile Sioux Indians until retired from active service in 1870, on account of wounds received in the line of duty. From 1870 to 1878, he was professor of military science at Wabash College, Indiana and authored many orations on the history of war.

He was buried in October 1912 at Fairview Cemetery, Boston, Suffolk Co., MA, Findagrave #5840174.
