Mrs. J. S. Heazeltine
Last Friday morning about six o'clock Mrs. J. S. Heazeltine suffered a stroke of apoplexy from which she died at 10:30 o'clock. Elva Ann Charles was born October 30, 1850, near Salem, Indiana. She was married to J. S. Heazeltine in Paris, Illinois, January 23, 1873. To this union four children were born: Roswell and Frank of Olathe, Mrs. C. L. Shipley of Libertyville, Indiana and Mrs. Alexander Gammell of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. All of whom were present at the funeral except Mrs. Gammill. The funeral services were held at the residence at three o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. Buchanan officiating after which the remains were taken to Paris, Illinois, for interment. Mrs. Hazeltine united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church early in life, and she was an everyday Christian. As such a life was a blessing and benefaction to all within the sphere of its influence so is the death of such a one an irreparable loss to the home circle made desolate by her departure.

She was buried in April 1913 at Edgar Cemetery, Paris, Edgar Co., IL.

M'VILLE R1 MAN DIES ENROUTE TO HOSPITAL

Frank Charles eighty-two, Millersville, R1 died at 7:30 pm Friday enroute to Lancaster General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He had been ill for six months.
He was born in Pequea Township, a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Lenhart Charles. He was a member of the New Danville Mennonite Church. Until three years ago when he retired, hehad been employed as an operator by Pennsylvania Power and Light Company at Slackwater. He served 33 years with the company.
Surviving are his wife, Minnie S. Mowrer Charles; three children. Lottie I. wife of Amos S. Witmer, Quarryvfille; Mrs. Minnie M. Himmelsbauch, Millersville R1 and Melvin M. Washington, D.C., four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sisters, Mrs. Clara Krieder, Willow Street and Miss Cecelia Charles, Lancster, and three brothers, William, West Willow, Samuel, Nebraska, and John Harrisburg, also survive.

He was buried in August 1950 at Willow Street Mennonite Church Cemetery, Willow Street, Lancaster Co., PA.

Jack Marvin Charles, age 79, resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 in Kingsville. He was born on November 11, 1931 in Dallas, Texas to William Thomas Charles and Hazel Blair Charles. Mr. Charles made his career with the U.S. Navy retiring in 1970. He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam Era. After his retirement, Jack was an agent for Tex-Pack as well as a contract mail carrier and a small business owner. He was a faithful member and deacon of Retama Park Baptist Church. Jack enjoyed being a voluneer for Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita Charles of Kingsville; three daughters, Jackie Owens (deceased), Jeanne Hahn (Brant) of Boerne, Texas and Joyce Coleman (Greg) of Kingsville; two sons, John Charles (Suzanne) of Round Rock, Texas and James Charles (Lisa) of Kingsville; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Retama Park Baptist Church, 515 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, with Rev. Gary Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Resthaven Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Military Funeral Detail.

Jackie Marie Charles Owens, 58, of Austin, formerly of Kingsville, died on November 12, 2009 in her home. Jackie was the first-born child of Jack and Juanita Charles. She was born in Dallas, Texas on November 12, 1951. Jackie is survived by her parents, Jack and Juanita Charles of Kingsville; her daughter, Suzette (Mark) Reinhart of Oak Park, Michigan; two sisters, Jeanne (Brant) Hahn of Boerne and Joyce (Greg) Coleman of Kingsville; two brothers, John (Suzanne) Charles of Round Rock and James (Lisa) Charles of Orlando, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a large extended family and circle of friends. A longtime resident of Austin, Jackie was passionate about her work with special needs adults.
