William O. Christner, 76 years, of Akron, died Sunday morning, Dec. 7, 1997.

Mr. Christner was a lifelong Akron resident who graduated from Central High School in 1941, and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II as a baker. Mr. Christner retired with 38½ years service as a crane operator at the Babcock & Wilcox Co. His memberships included V.F.W. Post 3383 (charter member), National A.A.R.P., and Grace Baptist Church, where he served as an usher for 24 years. He was also a former Cub Scout leader, Little League coach and precinct committeeman. Mr. Christner was a 20 gallon blood donor.

Surviving is his wife, Marjorie Jane; sons and daughters-in-law, William and Delora, Kenneth and Dorothy; grandchildren, Laura and Kenneth, all of Akron.

Calling hours Tuesday, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley, Cinello & Carr Funeral Home, 811 Grant St., Akron. Funeral services Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the Grace Baptist Church, 704 N. Firestone Blvd., Rev. Phil Hulgin officiating, and where friends may also call from 10 a.m. until service time. The family suggests memorials to Grace Baptist Church or your favorite charity.

David C. Chubbee, 71, passed away June 5, 2002, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born January 24, 1931 at Keota, Oklahoma, the son of Sampson Chubbee and Louise M. (McClure) Chubbee who were original enrollees of the Choctaw tribe.

David received elementary education at Keota Public School and graduated from Haskell Institute, Lawrence, Kansas, in 1950. He enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, served 20 years in SAC and retired in 1972. He married Sallie Sue Windle Brown in Durant, Oklahoma in 1979. They resided in Midwest City, Oklahoma and Antlers, Oklahoma, at the time of his death. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Sallie Chubbee, three stepchildren, John Wayne Brown, Susan Brown, and Kutrenia Brown, and most precious granddaughter, Ashley Lauren Brown, all of Midwest City; three sisters, Lila L. Wiggin of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Lucinda Morgan of Lubbock, Texas, and Mary Clay of Antlers, Oklahoma, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and oldest brother, Rayson J. Billey.

Lila Lillian Wiggin, 80, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away August 15, 2004. She was born July 6, 1924, in Keota, Oklahoma, the daughter of Sampson Austin and Louisa Margaret (McClure) Chubbee.

She lived in Muskogee for over 20 years. Her mother was a part of a small group that established the First Indian Baptist Mission. Lila was a longtime active member of the First Indian Baptist Church. She married Gordon Rodgers Wiggin on September 17, 1960. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2004.

Mrs. Wiggin worked at Muskogee Regional Medical Center as a supply tech, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed her life and continually thanked God for her many blessings and for many friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, David Chubbee; half-brother, Rayson Billey, and her sister, Mary Clay.

Survivors include a sister, Lucinda Morgan of Lubbock, Texas; eight nephews, John Morgan, David Joe Clay, Wendall Clay, Keno Clay, Russell Clay, Leslie Clay, Kevin Clay and Darrell Clay; two nieces, Lisa Morgan-Shaffer and Sharon Robertson.

Mary Frances Clay of Antlers, Oklahoma, passed away March 20, 2004. She was born April 11, 1934, in Keota, Oklahoma, to the late Sampson and Louisa M. McClure Chubbee. After moving to the Antlers area in 1976, she worked at two local nursing homes as an LPN. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who traveled all over the country to watch her sons and grandsons play baseball and basketball. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
