J. Harvey Collins, of Two Taverns, died suddenly at 2:15 a.m., January 12. He retired in his usual good healh the night before, and his death, caused by apoplexy, was therefore, very sudden.
Mr. Collins was a well-known and respected citizen. He was in the 82nd year of his age. He leaves a wife and eleven children, 8 sons and 3 daughters, to survive him. The sons are T. O., John A., Wm. H., of Mountjoy township; Charles S., of Kansas City, Mo; V. A., of McSherrystown; James A., of Littlestown; F. J., of Baltimore, and E. J. of Newport News. The daughters are Mrs. Wm. Althoff, of Mountjoy Township; Jannie, at home, and Anna Regan, of Baltimore; also one brother, Nelson F. of Mountjoy township, and one sister, Jane, of Bonneauville, survive him.
Funeral Monday; interment at Bonneauville, the sons present acting as bearers.
Mr. Collins was a kind husband and father and friendly neighbor and will be missed by all who knew him. He was a staunch Democrat and lived his whole life in the immediate vacinity.

     Joanne Dee Collins was born circa 1911 at California. She was the daughter of Fred Collins and Martha White.

"Joanne Dee Collins married John Randolph Ferris, Sr. on 12 April 1933 at San Pedro, Los Angeles County, California. Exactly seven months later, on 12 Nov 1933, the couple's son, John Randolph Ferris, Jr., was born. It appears from the DNA test results that were obtained by John Randolph Ferris Jr.'s grandson (William Joseph Ferris-Craig) that he, John Jr., was actually the biological son of Francis Everett Davalt. Both Francis and Joanne were living in San Pedro when she became pregnant. It appears that none of the people involved knew that Francis was the biological father of John Jr.

The San Pedro City Directory shows that John Randolph Ferris, Sr. and Joanne Dee Collins were still living together in 1934. In the 1940 Census, John Jr. was living with his father and a step mother named Gladas (spelling?). John Randolph Ferris, Sr. was buried next to his last wife, Catherine Genevieve (Leer) Ferris. At this time I do not know what became of Joanne Dee (Collins) Ferris."

     Maggie Collins was born in 1884 at Hopkins Co., TX.¹ She was the daughter of Redden Collins and Melinda Virginia Scarborough. Maggie Collins married Ransen P. Ritchie, son of Martin Alexander Ritchie and Mary Ann McManus, on 15 November 1903 at Hopkins Co., TX. Maggie Collins died on 4 April 1937 at Hopkins Co., TX. She was buried in April 1937 at Como Cemetery, Como, Hopkins Co., TX, Findagrave #53608760.

     Marrill Ellsworth Collins was born on 2 September 1922. He was the son of George Marvin Collins and Katherine A. Coombs. Marrill Ellsworth Collins married Sadie Kathryn Harris on 27 November 1968 at New Albany, Floyd Co., IN, Sadie was first married to Lee A. Davis and had daughters Shirley and Kathryn. Marrill Ellsworth Collins died on 12 July 1969 at Methodist Evangelical Hospital, Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at age 46.      Michael Collins was born on 11 January 1874. He was the son of Dennis Collins and Honnorah Lilis. Michael Collins married Mary Kate Strickler, daughter of John S. Strickler and Helen Mary Heatherington, on 30 July 1921.

     Myrtle F. Collins was born on 21 March 1886 at Martinsville, Clinton Co., OH.¹ She married Raymond West King on 20 March 1904 at Clinton Co., OH. Myrtle F.      Vernon Collins was born on 31 August 1912 at Jasper Co., MO. He was the son of Aaron W. Collins and Laura Danford. Vernon Collins died on 16 November 1989 at Prague, Lincoln Co., OK, at age 77.

     Winona Mae Collins was born on 12 April 1930 at Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., IA.¹ She was the daughter of Harry Francis Collins and Goldie Marie Mason.¹ Winona Mae Collins married Donald Robert Bitting, son of Alvie Lincoln Bitting and Fern Letha Rumple, on 9 November 1948 at Rice Co., MN, "Robert D." and Winona Bitting are listed as a married couple in the 1950 Des Moines city register. After their divorce, Donald remarried to Beverly Sue Browning (1942 - 2006) and Winona remarried to a Smith, first name not known. Winona Mae Collins and Donald Robert Bitting were divorced. Winona Mae Collins died on 27 August 1997 at Des Moines, Polk Co., IA, at age 67

Winona Mae Smith, 67, of 2111 S.E. Virginia Ave. died of a heart attack Wednesday at home. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born in Oskaloosa and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include six daughters, Gloria Cutwright and Shonda Scannell, both of Des Moines, Teresa Keeling of Runnells, Connie Voyce of Altoona, Pam Riley of Waterloo and Donna Allyn of LaPlata, Mo; two sons, Donald Bitting and Jerry Bitting, both of Des Moines; a sister, Wynetta Mikesell of Des Moines; a brother, Harry Collings Jr. of Marshfield, Mo; 18 grandhildre; and nine great-grandchildren.

     Iris Eloise Collis was born on 4 July 1939 at Winchester, VA. She was the daughter of William Edgar Collis and Esther Lee Lloyd. Iris Eloise Collis lived in 2001 at Trinity, Pasco Co., FL. NORMA LEE PETETE
Norma Lee Petete was born on Friday, May 20, 1930 near the Dixie Camp west of Holdenville. She was the daughter of John S. Collis and Myrtle Collis. She died Saturday, May 28, in the Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City. She attended schools at Benedict, Holdenville, Indianapolis, Ind., California and graduated from Moss
School in 1948. After attending Draughon School of Business in Tulsa, she worked for the Department of Human Services for 34 years, retiring in August 1985. She married Spencer Petete August 24, 1952 in Van Buren Ark. Her mother and father died when she was very young and her aunt and uncle, Mable and Harry Etchison,
reared her and her sisters and brother.
She was a member of the Capitol Heights Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Spencer, and daughter Paula of the home; one son and daughter-in-law,
Richard and Kaye of Ada; two sisters and brother-in-law, Geraldine and G.L. Morris of Seminole; Joan and Wendell Andrews of Birmingham, Ala; One brother and sister-in-law, J.C. and Lucille Collis of Holdenville; her aunt, Mable French, Long Town, Okla. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Capitol Heights Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Paxton officiating. Burial will be in the Holdenville cemetery, under the direction of Hudson Funeral Home.

     William Edgar Collis was born on 4 September 1911 at Ridgeway, Berkeley Co., WV. He married Esther Lee Lloyd on 4 November 1935 at Martinsburg, Berkeley Co., VA. William Edgar Collis died on 15 August 2007 at age 95. He was buried in August 2007 at Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville, Clarke Co., VA, Findagrave #70544524.

     Burl Lee Colliver was born on 23 March 1916 at Owingsville, Bath Co., KY. He married Hilda Katherine Pulse, daughter of Herbert Pulse and Gladys Marie Wilkin, on 9 October 1954 at Fairview Church of Christ, Hillsboro, Highland Co., OH.

     Joseph T. Collom was born on 7 November 1869 at Geneva, Crawford Co., PA. He married Lillie Etta Gillmore, daughter of Ephriam Bradley Gillmore and Mary Emily Hunt, on 18 October 1897 at Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO. Joseph T. Collom died on 13 April 1938 at Arlington, Fairfax Co., VA, at age 68.
