     George Taylor Conklin Jr. was born on 18 December 1914 at Merrick, Nassau Co., NY.¹ He married Leah Mary Wright. George Taylor Conklin Jr. and Leah Mary Wright were divorced in 1953 at Volusia Co., FL. George Taylor Conklin Jr. died on 4 November 2005 at age 90.

Slaughter, on 17 October 1917 at Paulding Co., OH. Albert Harper Conley lived on 11 April 1930 at Jackson Twp., Paulding Co., OH, laborer, odd jobs.² Cause of death: Burst appendix and peritonitis. Mrs. Scurlock, of 201 Joliet Road, died at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 1988, in the St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Born Feb. 24, 1970, in Pekin, she was the daughter of Leslie and Lola Lingle Conley. She married Bob Scurlock Feb. 24, 1970, in Pekin.

Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Kathleen) Callaway of Marquette Heights; two sons, Rick Hobbs of Indianapolis and Keith Hobbs of Peoria; three grandchildren; one sister, LaVonda Ackerson of East Peoria; and one brother, Wayne Conley of Pekin.

Her parents and four brothers preceded her in death.

Also surviving are one son, Dennis of Pekin; and three sisters, Frances Ingold of Peoria, and Erma J. Beard and Mary L. Tisdale, both of Pekin. One stepgrandson and one brother preceded him in death.

He was a truck driver for R.A. Cullinan & Son in Tremont for 25 years. He was a World War II Air Force veteran.

Sgt. U.S. Army Air Corps, World War II-Sgt. Conley was killed in action on 9-12-1944 while serving as a waist gunner on a B-24 Aircraft with the 751st Bomber Squadron of the 458th Bomber Group, Heavy flying out of Horsham St. Faith, England with Colonel James Isbell as Commander.

He is the son of Mr. Charles & Mrs. Myrtle Conley of 210 Broadway in Pekin, Illinois, and is 1943 graduate of Pekin H.S., and enlisted a short time later, and did his training at the Aerial Gunner's School at Las Vegas, Nevada, and was in England by June of 1944.

Besides his parents, he leaves one brother, Sgt. Howard Conley of the Army, and three sisters, Miss Frances, Miss Erma Jane, and Miss Mary Louise, all at home. And foremost, Sgt. Conley's fiancee, Miss Bertha Lucille Watson.

She was born in Jackson Township on July 28, 1918, the daughter of the late Albert H. and Alma (Harris) Conley. On July 17, 1938, she married Raymond P. Parr. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1975.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Cletus and John Conley, and two sisters, Mildred Deane Maher and Mary Ann Williamson.

She was previously employed by the former Key Corp/Society Bank of Paulding, retiring in 1998.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish, Paulding, with the Rev. G. Allan Fillman officiating. Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery, Paulding.

Visitation will be 2 - 8 p.m. with a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Den Herder Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.
