NEW ALBANY COOLEY, JACK F., 74, died Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Wedgewood Healthcare Center in Clarksville, IN. Jack was the owner of Cooley's Barber Shop in Clarksville from where he retired after over 40 years, and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Dana and his son, Vincent.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Janice Fenger Cooley; daughter, Joan Norton, of New Albany; son, Dr. Daniel Cooley (Mary), of Peoria, IL; grandchildren, Tim Byrne Jr., Shea Norton, Alicia, Diane, and Danielle Cooley. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Funeral services for James Edward Cooley, 56 years old, were held Tuesday at the Carwood Christian Church with burial in the church cemetery. He died Saturday at Madison. Three daughters, Mrs. Frank Phipps and Miss Gertrude Cooley, of New Albany, and Mrs. Myrtle Hutton of Carwood, and three sons, Marion, Lawrence and Herman, all of New Albany, survive.

James E. Colley, 81, died at his residence, 1751 Klerner Lane, at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. A native of Borden, he was a retired produce dealer. Funerals Of Three Victims Of Airplane Crash Are Set
Funeral for James E. Cooley, Jr., 24, of 418 Cost, and Melvin Goss, 22, of 712 E., 11th, New Albany, two of three victims of an airplane crash Sunday, will be held today.
Services for Cooley will take place at 2 p.m. in the Mullineaux Funeral Home with burial in Graceland Memorial Park. Rites for Goss will be held at 2 p.m. in the Greenville Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Goss' body is at the Seabrook Funeral Home.
The funeral of the other victim, Mrs. Katherine Skipper Lundstrom, 23, of 1731 E. Market, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the residence. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The three persons were burned to death when an airplane crashed in a cornfield near New Albany, Cooley owned and piloted the craft.
His survivors include a son, Stephen Cooley; parents, Mr. and Mrs. James E. Cooley, Sr., and three sisters, Mrs Annetta Reinhardt, Mrs. Imogene Martin and Miss Janet Cooley, New Albany.
Surviving Goss are his mother, Mrs. Stella Goss; one brother, Nelson Goss, and two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Austin and Miss Mary Elizabeth Goss, New Albany.

FLOYDS KNOBS -- Joseph R. Cooley, 65, died Monday at Floyd Memorial Hospital & Health Services.

He was a native of Floyd County and was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Kruer Cooley. He retired, after 44 years, as a rail clerk at Norfolk-Southern Railroad. He was very active for many years in the CYO Sports Program at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Clarksville, IN. He was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs.

Survivors include his son, Jeff Cooley of New Albany, IN; daughter, Jody Fitzpatrick of Sellersburg, IN; sister, Wana Harding of Clarksville; and grandchildren, Jordan and Logan Cooley and Mary Ann and Shawn Fitzpatrick.

Lawrence E. Cooley

Lawrence Edgar Cooley, 54, died Sunday evening at Norton Infirmary in Louisville. He had been in ill health for several months. Cooley was a native of Clark County and a resident of Borden, where he was employed as a service station mechanic.

Surviving are a son, Lynn, Borden; a daughter, Mrs. Hugh Rice, Chicago; two brothers, Herman, New Albany and Marion, Palmyra, a sister, Mrs. Frank Phipps, New Albany and a half sister, Miss Gertrude Cooley, Chicago.

He was a member of the Pleasant View Evangelical United Brethren Church at Borden.

The body is at the Dieckmann Funeral Home in New Albany, where funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Clark County.

He was a former truck driver for Hoosier Lime & Stone and a member of Palmyra Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

     The young son of Mr. & Mrs. Albert Cooley died yesterday at their home 1308 Elkin avenue. The body will be taken to Old Hickory Cemetery in Clark County for burial.

He was buried in November 1919 at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Carr Twp., Clark Co., IN.
