     Burton Wayne Crist was born on 14 September 1921 at Gove Co., KS. He was the son of Rev. Daniel Floyd Crist and Nellie Mae Jamison. Burton Wayne Crist married Dorothy Elizabeth Jones, daughter of Robert Grater Jones and Elizabeth Price Harley, on 25 December 1951. Burton Wayne Crist died on 18 February 2014 at Gove Co., KS, at age 92. He was buried in February 2014 at Quinter Cemetery, Quinter, Gove Co., KS, Findagrave #125301845.

Criswell and Margaret Armstrong McCombs.¹ John Emmett Criswell married Georgia Juanita Webb, daughter of Elijah William Webb and Jane Deborah Sloan, after 12 March 1920. John Emmett Criswell died on 20 September 1955 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 58.

     Mozelle Anita Criswell was born on 2 April 1922 at Oklahoma.¹ She was the daughter of John Emmett Criswell and Georgia Juanita Webb.¹ Mozelle Anita Criswell lived on 10 April 1940 at 1309 East 77th Street, San Antonio Twp., Los Angeles Co., CA.² She married Milo Francis Walters after 10 April 1940. Mozelle Anita Criswell died on 25 June 2011 at Nevada Co., CA, at age 89 Dates per SSDI, last residence Grass Valley.

     Emma A. Crites was born on 27 October 1880 at Green Twp., Wayne Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph F. Crites and Mary Ellen Schrock. Emma A. Crites married John H. Zook, son of Joseph Clippinger Zook and Mary Magdaline Hoover, on 25 February 1900.¹ Emma A. Crites died on 12 January 1941 at Wayne Co., OH, at age 60.

     Fanny Crites was born in October 1863 at Missouri.¹ She married Louis Lobmaster on 5 June 1881 at Bollinger Co., MO. Fanny Crites died on 7 July 1900 at age 36.

     Joseph F. Crites was born in 1852 at Wayne Co., OH. He married Mary Ellen Schrock. Joseph F. Crites died on 23 November 1917 at Wayne Co., OH.

     Susannah Margaret Crites was born on 2 February 1822 at Upshur Co. (probably), VA (now WV).¹ She married Jacob Patrick Clark on 12 November 1840 at Upshur Co., VA (now WV). Susannah Margaret Crites died on 8 August 1897 at Upshur Co., WV, at age 75.

     George Washington Crittenden was born on 20 May 1844 at Cherokee Nation West. He was the son of Henry Crittenden and Susannah Wolf. George Washington Crittenden married Martha Jane Starr, daughter of Joseph McMinn Starr and Delilah Adair, in 1866. George Washington Crittenden died in 1912.

     Note: Was a U.S. Senator from Kentucky.¹ Senator John Jordan Crittenden was born on 10 September 1787 at near Versailles, Woodford Co., KY. He married Sarah O. Lee on 27 May 1811 at Home of the bride, Versailles, Woodford Co., KY. Senator John Jordan Crittenden married Maria Knox Innes on 15 November 1826 at Kentucky.² Senator John Jordan Crittenden died on 26 July 1863 at age 75.

     Lt. John Jordan Crittenden III was born on 5 June 1854.¹ He was the son of Col. Thomas Leonidas Crittenden and Catherine Lucy Todd.
Note: Was attending West Point military academy in 1874 at the time the Sullivant book was published.² Lt. John Jordan Crittenden III died on 25 June 1876 at Little Bighorn Battlefield, Montana Territory, at age 22.

     Joseph H. Crittenden was born on 19 November 1872 at Cherokee Nation West, Indian Territory. He was the son of George Washington Crittenden and Martha Jane Starr.

     Maria Louise Crittenden was born circa 1827 at Kentucky.^2,3 She was the daughter of Senator John Jordan Crittenden. Maria Louise Crittenden married Dr. Edward H. Watson, son of Dr. John Watson and Anne Bannister Howe, circa 1842.

     Sarah Crittenden was born circa 1847 at Cherokee Nation West, Indian Territory. She was the daughter of Henry Crittenden and Susannah Wolf. Sarah Crittenden married Joseph McMinn Starr, son of Joseph McMinn Starr and Delilah Adair, circa 1864. Sarah Crittenden died circa 1877.

     Col. Thomas Leonidas Crittenden began military service Major-General during Civil War, Colonel in Regular Army.² He was born circa 1819 at Woodford Co., KY. He married Catherine Lucy Todd, daughter of John Harris Todd and Maria Knox Innes, circa 1853 at Woodford Co. (probably), KY.

     Vinnie Ream Crittenden was born on 30 April 1870. He was the son of George Washington Crittenden and Martha Jane Starr.

     Walter Starr Crittenden married Rachel Pauline Henry, daughter of Archibald Henry and Mary Sanders. Walter Starr Crittenden was born in May 1868. He was the son of George Washington Crittenden and Martha Jane Starr.

     Opal Gladys Crittendon was born on 17 May 1910 at Yeager, Hughes Co., OK. She was the daughter of Rufus Crittendon and Burchie Grissom. Opal Gladys Crittendon married Ralph Marion Middleton, son of Marion Wesley Middleton and Annie Curry Petete, on 31 October 1924. OPAL MIDDLETON
Opal Gladys Middleton departed this life on March 25, 2001. She was born on May 17, 1910 to Frank and Burchie (Grissom) Crittendon in Yeager. Opal lived most of her life in Holdenville. She married to Ralph Marion Middleton on October 30, 1925. They had a son, Dale Middleton. Opal enjoyed fishing, hand work and visiting with her friends and relatives. She worked at Gilles Flower Shop for eighteen years prior to her retirement in 1979. Opal had been a member of the BPW and active in the
Methodist Women’s Sewing Club of Wetumka and in church work. Opal’s husband-Ralph, son, Dale Middleton, four brothers, J.W., Lessell, Doyle and J.C., and parents - Frank and Burchie Crittendon preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother, Floye Crittendon and wife Geneva of Wewoka; daughter-in- law, Jeanne
Middleton of Holdenville; grandchildren, Brad Middleton, Lori Poos and husband Don of Dallas, Tex; Mona Middleton of Moore; sisters-in-law, Georgia Crittendon of Corpus Christi, Tx; Pauline Adams and husband, Roland of Trelton; Vinita Middleton of Walnut, Ca; great- grandchildren, Mary and Mark Middleton of Duncan; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are to be held at 2:oo p.m., Saturday, March 31, at St Paul Episcopal Church in Holdenville with Rev. Lynn Borrego officiating. Interment will follow the services at Holdenville Cemetery under the
direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made
to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or the church of your choice.

Opal Middleton Citizen of the Month
Opal G. Middleton was born in Yeager on May 17, 1910 to Frank and Berch Crittendon. They moved to the
Fairview Community where he farmed. Opal went to school the first two years at Fairview. They moved to Healdon where her father started work in the oilfield as a rig builder, the old rigs then where built with rough lumber. He followed the work and moved back to Yeager for a short time and then to
Holdenville. Opal attended Holdenville High School where she met Ralph, they were married October 30, 1925. One son, Dale, was born in Holdenville.
Opal worked for J.C. Penney's, Sharp’s, Wilders Vogue, and for Dunlap for 10 years. Then she worked for Gille’s Flowers 18 years before retiring in 1979. Opal joined the Nazarene Church in 1927. She was Sunday school teacher for 38 years, Sunday school
treasurer for 35 years, and missionary president 13 years. Opal is enjoying retirement and likes to fish, crochet and read. Ralph went to work for McGuire and Baldwin in 1925 and became a partner in the late 1930's. He worked
there until his death in 1982. Opal has three grandchildren, Brad, Lori, and Mona, and two great-grandchildren, Mark and Mary Ann Middleton. A wonderful Christian lady, Opal is one of t he finest Sunday school teachers to ever teach. She is deserving of this honor and we send our love and appreciation with it. The following poem. reminded us so much of Opal:

Give And It Shall Be Given
I helped a neighbor up a hill
And found to my surprise
I was near the peak I sought
And closer to the prize
I helped a blind man in the dark
And found to my delight
I arrived where I was going
As I led him that night
I gave a gift to needy children
And found to great joy
Each child I helped become to me
Like my own girl and boy
I cheered a lonely derelict
And found by healing grief
And touching him to fill and cheer
Christ touched me with His peace.

     Rufus Crittendon married Burchie Grissom.

     Mary Ellen Crittin was born in 1868. She married Joseph Webster Keller. Mary Ellen Crittin died in 1968.
