He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1941 and married Alice Cornelia Boyd on Feb. 14, 1944. Hugh was inducted into the U.S. Army Mar. 13, 1944 and discharged May 2, 1946. He graduated from Michigan State College with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1949. His job took him to Cardington, OH and Sturgis, MI as a Health Inspector. Hugh and Alice moved back to Tecumseh and had the house built at 100 Maple Street in 1953 where they lived the rest of their years. Hugh worked with his father at DesErmia's Home Furnishings from 1953 until he went to work as a Mechanical Engineer at Ford Motor Company on Mar. 5, 1956. He retired Feb. 1, 1987 with 32.35 years of credited service (he was credited for something prior to his start date). He served on the Tecumseh Public School board. He married Shelly Stoll in 1984 and they had two children. They later divorced.
Dan lived, and practiced law, in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. He was currently working for CFW, a public finance service.
Starting at an early age Dan became an avid skier. During the summer months water skiing and sailing were his passions. He also enjoyed fishing mountain lakes, riding ATV’s and bicycling.
Dan is survived by his daughter Samantha Deshon of Los Angeles, CA; and his son Kyle Deshon of Port Hueneme, CA; father Dan (Donna) Deshon; mother Lola (Bill) Bennett; brother John (Lynn) Deshon; nieces Allysa (Kyle) Rickard and Kelsey Deshon; nephew Seth Haley; grandmother Doris Stevens; stepbrother and sisters Edward, Michelle, Stacie Ostrom; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and a very good friend Brian Kramer.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held in July for Dan.
