She was a student at the University of Florida‚ majoring in horticulture and business. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and Gator Pals-Circle K. Katelyn was an active member at both Riverview High School and within the community in the following capacities: vice-president of the Senior Board‚ Tartan Yearbook staff‚ Highland Dancer officer‚ Key Club president‚ Big Brothers and Sisters‚ Mote Marine Intern‚ Renaissance‚ Funtastics Flyers‚ homecoming queen‚ and Community Youth Development. She was a violinist in both the Riverview Orchestra and the Florida West Coast Youth Symphony. She was also honored as a member of the debutante society.

Katelyn was a youth camp counselor at Spruce Lake Wilderness Christian Retreat. She had a fond appreciation and love for both nature and animals.

Her strong Christian faith and spirit brought joy to the lives of everyone she encountered. Her innate creative ability will be treasured through her many photographic and artistic talents.

Katelyn's family said she will always be remembered for her radiant beauty both inside and out‚ as well as her joy of life.

Survivors include her parents‚ Bambi Famous-Kaine and Rodney L. Derstine‚ both of Sarasota; her stepfather‚ Jeffrey L. Kaine of Sarasota; a brother‚ M. Dane of Sarasota; a stepsister‚ Judith Kaine of Atlanta‚ GA; a stepbrother‚ Daniel Kaine of Orlando‚ FL; maternal grandmother‚ Joyce Becker of Schwenksville; paternal grandparents‚ Mr. and Mrs. James L. Derstine of Hatfield; grandparents‚ Jane Becker of Boca Raton‚ FL‚ and Dr. and Mrs. Henry Kaine of Bloomfield Hills‚ MI; great-grandmother‚ Mary Derstine of Souderton; great-grandfather‚ Robert C. Bucher of Harleysville; and 12 aunts‚ 11 uncles‚ 37 cousins‚ and countless friends‚ who all loved her.

A celebration of life will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Church of the Palms-Presbyterian. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is in charge.

Hugh was born at 111 E. Main in Britton, MI. His middle name was just the initial "A." Hugh earned his Eagle Scout on June 13, 1939. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1941 and married Alice Cornelia Boyd on Feb. 14, 1944. Hugh was inducted into the U.S. Army Mar. 13, 1944 and discharged May 2, 1946. He graduated from Michigan State College with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1949. His job took him to Cardington, OH and Sturgis, MI as a Health Inspector. Hugh and Alice moved back to Tecumseh and had the house built at 100 Maple Street in 1953 where they lived the rest of their years. Hugh worked with his father at DesErmia's Home Furnishings from 1953 until he went to work as a Mechanical Engineer at Ford Motor Company on Mar. 5, 1956. He retired Feb. 1, 1987 with 32.35 years of credited service (he was credited for something prior to his start date). He served on the Tecumseh Public School board. Hugh and Alice were married sixty six years together and had three sons: Bruce A. (1950), Brian A. (1954), and Bret A. DesErmia (1960).

Daniel Albert Deshon IV passed away suddenly, at the age of 56, at his home in Sandpoint.
Dan was born in Sandpoint on January 5, 1961. He attended local schools and graduated from Sandpoint Sr. High in 1979. He attended Washington State University graduating in 1983. He then attended Cornell Law School, graduating in 1986.
He married Shelly Stoll in 1984 and they had two children. They later divorced.
Dan lived, and practiced law, in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. He was currently working for CFW, a public finance service.
Starting at an early age Dan became an avid skier. During the summer months water skiing and sailing were his passions. He also enjoyed fishing mountain lakes, riding ATV’s and bicycling.
Dan is survived by his daughter Samantha Deshon of Los Angeles, CA; and his son Kyle Deshon of Port Hueneme, CA; father Dan (Donna) Deshon; mother Lola (Bill) Bennett; brother John (Lynn) Deshon; nieces Allysa (Kyle) Rickard and Kelsey Deshon; nephew Seth Haley; grandmother Doris Stevens; stepbrother and sisters Edward, Michelle, Stacie Ostrom; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and a very good friend Brian Kramer.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Deshon, who was born in North Dakota, died Thursday.
He moved to Sandpoint in 1931 and graduated from Sandpoint High School.
Mr. Deshon served with the Civilian Conservation Corps before serving with the Army during World War II.
He later owned Bargain Supply in Sandpoint from 1944 to 1982 and Emerald Maintenance from 1962 to 1992.
Mr. Deshon was a member of the Sandpoint Rotary Club, the Elks and Eagles lodges and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa; two sons, Dan Deshon III of Sandpoint and Richard Deshon of Spokane; a daughter, Cheryl Paton of Spokane; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Local Woman Succumbs In Chicago

Mrs. John (Marcella) Wright of 104 Grove St. died Sunday at 1:30 a.m. in Presbyterian-St. Luke’s hospital, Chicago. She had been in ill health since June 21.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, in the Central Church of Christ, with burial in Riverview cemetery.

Friends may call at the Winterrowd funeral home after 4 p.m., Monday.

Mrs. Wright was born March 24, 1922, in Streator, to Raymond and Gertrude I. (Helm) Detmering. Mrs. Wright was married to John Wright in the Episcopal church in Streator, Jan. 31, 1939. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ and resided in this city her entire life.

Surviving are her husband; 13 children, Mrs. Andrew (Sharon) Palko, Mrs. Jerry (Jacqueline) Raber, Mrs. Edmund (Roberta) Essman, Mrs. Terrell (Janene) Bennet, and Mrs. Robert (Kathleen) Hays, all of this city; Mrs. Marcella Mitchell, John Wright, Jr., Mrs. Fred (Victoria) Paulmeyer, and Miss Rebecca Wright, all of Joliet; James Wright, Miriam Wright, Mary Kay Wright, and Beth Ann Wright, all at home; 16 grandchildren; one brother, Robert Caile; her step-father, Lee Crider.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a step-father, James W. Caile; two half-brothers; two grandchildren.
