EVE, CLARENCE WILLIAM "PETE," 89, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at his home. He was a retired custodian for the New Albany School System and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Eve; a daughter, Joyce Ann Eve; and a brother, John Eve. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Kelley and Lisa Bishop; six sons, Mike Eve, Bobby Eve, Steve Eve, Johnny Eve, Joe Eve, and David Eve; brother, Clifton Eve; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. JOHN EDWARD EVE, 88, of Harriman, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at the Rockwood Care & Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Eve was a former resident of Harriman and was retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory where he worked for 35 years. He was a millwright.
He is survived by his wife, Alpha Hembree; his son, Joe Edward Eve of Lenoir City; his daughter, Barbara Prestayho and her husband, Archie, of Cary, N.C; two stepsons, G. Wayne Hembree of Signal Mountain, N.C., and Loren M. Hembree and his wife, LaDonna, of Farragut; and his stepdaughter, Wanda M. Manning and her husband, George, of Rockwood.
Mr. Hembree (sic) is also survived by his brothers, Clarence Eve and Clifton Eve; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothea Heilig Eve; and by his parents, Joseph and Minnie Eve.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Sept. 20, in the chapel of Evans Mortuary in Rockwood with the Rev. Louis T. Hill officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Graceland Cemetery in New Albany, Ind.

He was a 1992 graduate of Kennedy High School, where he had been active in the band, theater, Happiness Swing Choir, chorus and was Homecoming King in 1991. He was a member of Lovely Lane United Methodist Church and YMCA Soccer League.

The Rev. Paul Akin will officiate. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lovely Lane United Methodist Church or the Kennedy High School Band. The casket will be closed at all times.

Cause of death: Automobile accident -- he was the front seat passenger in the car being driven by his step-brother, David Ross of Sioux City, which hit a Chicago and Central Paciific Railroad freight train at the Paris Road crossing on Highway 13, about three miles north of Central City, Iowa. Dale Everett, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at his home from COPD. Memorial services will be at a later date at the Evangelical Reformed Methodist Church in Conesville, with inurnment following the service.

Dale was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Conesville, the son of Irvin and Callie Buser Everett. He married Barbara Fansler Aug. 30, 1947, and they later divorced. He married Marlys Wilt on Nov. 28, 1970, and they were later divorced. On July 21, 2001, he was united in marriage to Marge Bann. Dale owned and operated Dale's Fruit Market in Cedar Rapids for over 40 years until his retirement. He was also a tomato broker for Arkansas Tomatoes.

Dale is survived by his wife, Marge, sons, Cameron Everett of Phoenix, Ariz., Steve (Connie) Wright of Centerville, John (Carla) Green; a stepson, Ian Bann, and stepdaughter, Kay (Richard Stewart) Bann, all of Cedar Rapids, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, brothers, Leslie (Lois) Everett of Winfield and Fred (Linda) Everett of Conesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ed Everett; a sister, Helen Everett Gartzke, and sons William, Michael, Chad and Eugene Everett.

Memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
