"CARL FAULHABER
Carl Faulhaber, a life long resident of Cherry County, passed away at the Sandhills General Hospital, Sept. 1, 1966.
Carl was born on the ranch of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Faulhaber, five miles northwest of Brownlee on Aug. 27, 1894. His entire life, except three years when he went to the agricultural college in Lincoln, were spent in Cherry County and the Brownlee vicinity in the ranching business.
Chas. Faulhaber had the first registered Herefords in this part of the country and Carl continued in this business when he started on a ranch of his own. He was married to Mame McGuire on April 18, 1917.
Funeral services were held in St. Nicholas Catholic Church Oct. 3 in Valentine with Father M. J. Koprowski, Carl and Mame's pastor and friend of nineteen years, officiating. Father Carl Ferris of Nenzel was in the sanctuary. Interment was in Mt. Hope cemetery.
Carl is survived by his wife, Mame, one sister, Ruby, (Mrs. D. S. McDonald) of Paradise, Mont., two brothers, Forrest and Irvie of California, and many relatives and friends.
In fifty years of married life Carl and Mame were never alone on the ranch. There was always some of the relatives with them. Carl especially enjoyed the children. Nothing was ever too much trouble for "Uncle Cal" to do for them. He will be greatly missed by many people."
