Graveside services for Franklin Holt, 64, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 17, 1998, at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson with Rev. John Cobb officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Military honor guard services will be performed at the National Cemetery by VFW Post #474 of Muskogee.
Mr. Holt was born to Leonard and Emma (Morgan) Holt on April 10, 1934, in Jasper, Arkansas and he died Saturday, July 11, 1998 in Wagoner, Oklahoma. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He served for a number of years in the U. S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Allen, Walter and Woodrow; two sisters, Betty Lou Holt and Helen Greenhaw. Survivors include two sons: Donald and Ronald Holt both of Smithville, Kansas; two daughters, Melissa Sue Myers of Poolesville, Texas, and Carolyn Sue Holt of Texas; three brothers, Ford Holt of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Bill Holt of Riverton, Nebraska, and Jim Holt of Boynton; five sisters, Emma Harris of Essex, Iowa Caroline Cone of Harrison, Arkansas, Faye Shinn of Oklahoma City, Alice Dobbins of Amarillo, Texas, Sue Pfannkuche of Midwest City and Nola Evon Barthell of Henryetta; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
